I think the work stress from the last couple of weeks has caught up with me. My lack of good sleep is causing multiple problems--fibro pain, brain fog, etc. I'm having that illusionary "If I just grab some sugar, I'll feel better" stuff going on. I *KNOW* I won't feel better for long but there's still a part of me that wants a snickers.
I'm also having IBS problems from adding bread back in. I've messed with my soluble to insoluble fiber ratio before and gotten things right. I cut back on my soluble fiber supplement because I was eating more of it. Just adding that 1/2 a muffin back in seems to have done stuff (or that plus the stress). Just think what would happen if I added a bunch of sugar in (bad idea all around).
I'm hoping I stablize on my own if I get good sleep tonight. Otherwise, I get to chart types of fiber again (I've done this before). Most IBSers need more soluble than insoluble and need soluble with the insoluble. That's one of the reasons my nutritionist said to eat my beans with lunch and dinner.

I think it's good to acknowledge that this diet does involve more work. Convenience foods are called "convenience" for a reason. They don't take as much thought or time out of our lives. It's also important to realize that the work isn't horrific--it's just something else you need to remember to do. And there are pre-packaged foods that do meet the requirements. We just need to read labels carefully. BTW, my hubby cut veggies for me last night so I am making progress! I'm getting their cold (about a week behind the last person) and he maybe he felt for me.

Well, I had 1 fruit (3/4 cup sliced strawberries) and 1 bread/cereal (1/2 cup whole wheat pasta) yesterday and I felt fine. I remembered to have a protein with the fruit. I did have them both in the evening (fraid to add them in the morning). This morning I had my bread (1/2 a double fiber English muffin) with breakfast. I'm still going to have my fruit after dinner--probably still strawberries (I got a big tub and everyone else at the house is a bit off). I also have some green apples (my fav with natural peanut butter) for later in the week.
I was behinder than ususal this morning. Stress has been messing with my sleep but I slept much better last night. I did, however, sleep a little late. So I was scrambling to put my lunch stuff together. Luckily, I still had some lentil curry left so I've got my beans for lunch. And I just brought my eggs in and cooked them in my microwave cooker. The veggies were all sliced, I just needed to bag a portion for me.
