My weight seriously fluctuates. Like anywhere between 240 and 260. So I feel ya.

I'm in the same boat...so try not to feel too bad. It's whenever I think I'm in the clear (i.e., see the pounds dropping) that I think: "Oh yay! Maybe I can give in a little now and eat what I want. Surely the weight will continue to keep dropping!" Nope....not how it works; and yet, I still fall into the same trap. It's the false sense of relief that gets me every time.

The struggle you describe is a big reason many of us are here. You're in like-minded company, and you can do this, one day at a time.

I find that it's best to replace an old bad habit with a new one, like treating an urge to rummage around the kitchen with a walk instead. The cravings pass.

I have found that as long as I track what I eat, I don't fall off the wagon. Tested and proven at least 3x over the past 8 years lol. For Me, I HAVE to track and have something to hold me accountable. If I go as long as just 1 week of not documenting, I start gaining. And then I go another, and another week of no documentation. Even though I THINK I'm doing ok because I THINK I'm eating the right foods, I'm not. I THINK "yeah, that looks like 1/2 c." or "That looks like 2 tbsp"....it's probably not.

You know what? A diet is not a bad thing. It only means what you eat. You cannot "diet" your way to weight loss. Try just adopting a new way of eating instead of eating less or thinking you are depriving yourself. We have to put good, unprocessed food into our bodies to keep them healthy.

Finding healthy foods that's are seriously yummy have helped me! And making sure that I stay high fiber, high protien, low processed carbs. I'm really not feeling deprived now that I have favorite healthy indulgences. Morningstar Chipotle Black Bean burgers, oatmeal with flax seed, peanut butter powder and cinnamon , greek yogurt w/ seasonings and cucumber/carrot sticks. It's a mindiet change. When I eat pizza or chocolate now, it a treat, not the norm, so the cravings are gone...I wish luck. Keep searching for what works for you...you CAN do this!,
