It's always a challenge to get back into the groove after a few days not staying with the program. Seems like every day gets a little easier, but I just can't seem to do it all at once...one day eating awful for the holidays-the next back on track. :) I do think that the Diet Calendar helps though...just to see what's going on.

I'm not sure I said here, but I won't go to Rome this year for the marathon. There is just no way to prepare in time, or to prepare to the requirement of finishing 26.2 miles in 6.5 hours. I've told my friend and she called me a slacker. phhhhtttt. ;) However, there is a half-marathon here in the Seattle area on the same day--March 20--that I have signed up for and will train to do. 13.1 is much easier to wrap my head around too. :) My youngest daughter is training to run it while I walk, I registered her as a Yule gift. There are also a couple of marathons in the UK, Dublin and Inverness, in October that I have pointed out to my friend. They are walker friendly...giving walkers more time to finish...and would be lovely to visit. We'll see...

I want to begin journaling more in the new year. There are several things I want to do more of in the new year. Making a plan...

Hello Hello!

I had two days off and away...didn't even worry one bit about what I put in my mouth. It was a lovely time...

On 12/21/2010 I was married to GM in Victoria, British Columbia! It was a sweet ceremony with two wonderful friends/witnesses in the gorgeous Fairmont Empress Hotel. We then went to Butchart Gardens for the evening to look at the beautiful holiday light festival! It was a fabulous way to celebrate not only the marriage, but the Solstice as well. We had an amazing dinner at The Dining Room at the Gardens. Wednesday we walked all about Victoria. Amazing to have a sunny, mild day in December on the North American more northern West Coast. It was a gift. We took the high speed ferry, The Victoria Clipper, roundtrip from Seattle with a 36 hour turnaround. What fun! What lovely memories we made!

I did have some luscious food and very yummy wine. Korean BBQ short ribs and Orange Julius. A scrumptious butternut squash pasta with roasted sage, a sea scallop appetizer shared with my new husband, and creme brulee for dessert! On Wednesday, a Prime Rib burger and salad, a date toffee English style pudding (moist, spongy cake, really), and then a little vegetarian snack basket on the ferry. Looking at that, it may not be as much as I was thinking it was! It was certainly larger servings than necessary, and I ate a lot, but still not as bad as it could have been.

So there it is. I is a marrit woman! :D
