Thinking that I'm going to switch from Atkins to VLC of the Paleo variety. Not a whole lot different than what I'm already eating, but after some discussions online about insulin resistance, it makes sense for me. On that same topic, I had no idea what Acanthosis Nigricans was, but I've had it for years. I always thought it was dead skin buildup (yuck!), but it makes sense knowing that I never could scrub it off and the use of AHA lotions never helped. I don't have it around my neck, though I do have it around my underarms, my elbows, knees, waist, and groin area. It's noticeable on anyone of ANY skin color, but I've got super light, translucent skin and the darker patches are a velvety, ash brown color. Total contrast. Anyway, I'm reading up on metabolic and insulin resistance. I don't want to jump to any conclusions. The plan that DH and I are interested in is located here.

It's in line with everything we believe and have researched, anyway, so it's not really a change. Just a title change, I guess. LOL
I'm going to call the clinic today to see if my thyroid test results are back yet. I honestly have no clue what the outcome's going to be. I have a
ton
of symptoms (most of the hypo symptoms) listed from the Stop the Thyroid Madness website, but I guess I've lost hope that I will find a definite answer...? I dunno. I guess I'm used to being told it's all in my head. You know, I actually had a doctor say that to me once (about some vaginal pain that upon further research, I discovered was a common hormonal issue).
I need to get better about tracking my food. That is my top priority this week. Second is getting my running in. Yesterday was a perfect day, as I tracked everything that passed my lips and got my intervals in. I'm still researching home gyms, because I'd love to get back into weight training.

So irritated. Broke my plateau of 213.2 and got down to 211.8, but a couple of days later, I'm back up to 215.0. Seriously. I mean, this is after going to the bathroom and all that good stuff.
Hope my thyroid tests come back soon. I need to know if this is that or if it's something I'm doing wrong.
Ran my ass off on the treadmill today. Good music helps so much. I love it when I'm able to get over myself and just tune out, listen to the music, and let my mind wander.
I had some sugar cravings yesterday. Really bad ones. So, instead of breaking and going for something from the care package my parents sent us (OMG - HELL!), I had a couple of handfuls of fresh blueberries. They totally hit the spot and I know they're not on plan, but they're better than the alternatives. Could I just have said no? Probably. I'd have had to gone to bed though to stay strong.
I need to chill it on the heavy cream. I've been taking 1/4 cup (4 tbsp) in my double shot Americano's in the morning. I need to either cut out the coffee entirely or cut them in half. No Splenda, as I'm worried it's just prolonging the sugar cravings (I don't need that crap anyway). No macadamia nuts.
If that doesn't do it over the next couple of weeks and my thyroid turns out to actually be okay, then I'll have to try the fat fast. Which I'm not looking forward to.
