Wow, so happy (and amazed!!!) I stayed steady/down in this past very stressful week.
I did 10 minutes of calisthenics six out of seven days, and bicycled to work five of those days (30-45 min each way, workplace dependent), but also had several “meals” that consisted solely of corn nuts/cheesy poofs and string cheese and a plum. Perhaps it was balanced by the many more meals this week that were garden zucchini (why do they get soo big overnight!) and a protein (usually cheese, since gluten/soy free vegetarian). Yesterday I made calabacitas (zucchini, corn, roasted green chile), and the zucchini equivalent of eggplant Parmesan (only no breading or frying) in my backyard solar oven (so without adding heat indoors), some of both will come to work with me for my dinner break (plus, sigh, some cheesy poofs. I hadn’t had any since March, then got a craving and purchased two bags, one each of my favorites, Barbara‘s blue cheese and cheddar, plus Trader Joe’s sour cream and onion, such good balances of flavor and texture, mmmmm).

I’ve had a summer flu for the last week. Body aches, twitchy muscles, very little rest, no exercise, but also not much food. Not a recommended way to drop a pound. I am mostly recovered, and think the debilitating sinus headache I am currently contending with is likely an artifact of smoke affected air quality) I hope my head clears soon, as I have a job interview tomorrow (a new position with new people doing new things at one of the places I already work), and an application to fill out for a different position (this one promotional) in the unit I already work in.

I increased my exercise to 14 minutes of HIIT plus 10 minutes of calisthenics (T-Tapp) this week, and did it 6 of the last seven days. Other than being mindful, I am not tracking my diet again yet, though this week contained a lot less sugar than last (all of last weeks work treats were gone, and the ones brought in this week week were things I can’t eat, plus my lime tree has paused, so the sugar syrup I made for limeade sat untouched for the week).
I am either reacting to smoke from the fires north of me, or fighting a virus. Symptoms started last night. I will see how this next week goes.
