Negligible weight loss (actually .2lbs gain) today. I can track this thing by how I am sticking to the diet. The first couple days, I was doing it perfectly, then yesterday, I slipped by eating too many Atkins "treats" and today, I didn't eat enough carbs. I probably won't lose for a couple days now. But that's alright. I've made progress.

I discovered the reason I'm slipping is because I'm running out of food. I miscalculated how much I was really going to eat and didn't buy enough. I'm out of veggies, pretty much, and have only frozen chicken breasts for meat now. I'll go shopping again on Friday.

I find it hard to make meal plans, because I've never been the type to cook my own meals more than 2-3 times a week (during a good week). I was all about convenience foods, fast food and eating out. Now I have to pay attention to my food needs myself. So judging how much I'll eat in a week is something I'll get used to.

No bowel movement at all today. Ate no veggies at all today either. Had a big breakfast, ate a small snack that counted as lunch and a very small dinner. I'm not ravenously hungry, though.

I'll pick things up again tomorrow and get back in the saddle. I have the next two days off work, so it'll be easier to cook what I need to eat.

It is Day 4 and I've gotten a TINY case of the Atkin's flue.

I felt sort of horrible today. Probably a bit overdramatic, but I didn't want to get out of bed this morning (hit snooze twice) and I dragged all the way to work. Very small headache at one point. I ended up feeling almost normal as the day wore on. It didn't help that it was an especially long day at work.

I know about the salt thing. I've been using more than normal on my food the last few days. That is probably why I didn't get hit too hard by the headache.

I am having problems with bowel movements. With as much spinach and broccoli as I've been eating, I can't see how I could have a fiber shortage. Maybe when I go shopping this weekend, I'll see about getting some fiber tablets or something. I've only had 3 bowel movements since I started this thing 4 days ago. Only one was a major movement.

As far as weight goes, I didn't lose as much today as I did yesterday. That is probably due to the Atkins products I've been eating. Had a bar AND a shake today. And a bar yesterday. But I've been getting major cravings and the chocolate-y taste of the shakes helps quell them. They are also very filling.

So, I'm under 280! 5 lbs down in 4 days! I like that! We'll see if it stays that low over the next 3 days until the weekly check-in when I average the daily weigh-ins. So far, it's all down. :)

Had a horrible morning. Had bad digestive problems, but I think it was because I was running late for work and waited until I got to work to use the bathroom. Waited too long and I felt sick for about an hour afterwards.

But the day got better. Even though it's only been three days, I'm getting attuned to my hunger signals and figuring out when I START to get hungry so I can eat then instead of waiting until my stomach is rumbling.

I found a little digital scale at a kitchen store today that was 50% off. I'll be able to weigh my cheese in oz. now instead of guessing. :) Also got measuring cups and spoons. I haven't really been doing serious measuring (or cooking, really) because my tools are horrible or non-existant.

I weigh myself daily. I know that is against the "rules" but I understand that weight fluctuates daily. I am just going for the overall trend. Kinda like what you see when you look at Stock Market trends. I know there will be upward movement some days. But as long as the line on that graph keeps heading in a general downward direction from week to week, I'll be happy. :)

Lost another 2 lbs today! I'm happy about that.
