Used first day of a free 3-day pass at a local "famous" gym yesterday. What a nightmare! They have so much going on all at once and so much equipment that there's hardly any room to move. I'm not going to bother with the other 2 days. I purchased a 1-month pass at the club I used to go to which is just across the street from where I work. The other one takes me 15-20 minutes to get there and it's more than double the price.

Skated 9.2 miles yesterday on the Rideau Canal in Ottawa - was so beautiful outside with mild weather. Great opening weekend for Winterlude! Today, I went for a 30 minute walk/jog plus strength work when I got back.

Weight has gone up since late June although I had increased my running. Not sure if it's because of muscle gain or too much food intake.

I weighed myself this morning and it read 175.6 lbs. - a loss of 2 lbs. since earlier this week. Mind you, I haven't worked out for two days in a row although I did a walk on my lunch. They'll probably come back up as soon as I do a fitness DVD.

My breakfast of choice this week since Monday has been 1 pack of Quaker Instant Oatmeal with 1 cup frozen blueberries and 1/4 cup natural almonds. What a change it has made! I feel less hungry during the day and I'm not constantly trying to fill myself up all day long although I still have my morning & afternoon snacks to keep blood sugar level stable.
I also realized that by having made this change, my daily calorie total has been trimmed by almost 400 calories even after my dinner is taken into account.
