DOWN 1LB

Bit disappointed I really was true to ME and my promise of becoming healthy. But Going to stick at it.

Not recording much tonight, My PAL that I went out with on Friday, Well her Mum had massive stroke, in a coma and no hope. She txted as I went to club. This lady walked miles every day that includes the mountains near her home, never smoked, drank and rarely ate shop bought food, dug and tended her garden, and for this to happen, is very disheartening. All of you please PRAY HER PASSING IS QUICK AND SHE IS NOT IN PAIN.

Thank you all. still no news. Its really knocked me about Mrs C,and my pal is only 32 and she thought her mum was indestrucable. Anyone who met her felt the same. Dorothy my pal has really supported me about my MUM and her illness. My poor mum is living a life now she always feared, 2 of her family also had Alzheimers, and when she realised what was happening to her, she really hoped she would not live long in what she called "a living Death" and here is a lady full of life caring for family and friends, full use of her mind, always took care of her health, struck down in the "prime of her life". Lif is hard to understand. The only thing is that, Mrs C, wont suffer a long time, long illness can destroy families, I know it can also strenghten one but speaking from what happened to my family it destroyed things between us.

I am so sorry this is happening to your friend's mother. I've always believed that one feels no pain in a coma, but no one can really prove that one way or the other. Still, that's what I believe and hope with all my heart. My own mom has Alzheimer's, as well as 1 or 2 other forms of dementia. We can still have conversations, but it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense sometimes. Alzheimer's is truly very hard on any family and we can only hope that research brings about something to reverse this degenerative disease.

Thank you for your kind words, My own mums Alzheimers seems to have halted for a while, she has no idea who we are and now talks of things that happened to her in the past, some not very nice things, and as she's in a nursing hme, its a fab home, newly built, everything a 5* hotel can offer, owners knew her when she had full health, but she keeps asking when she can go home, but my sister sold her home, but now when my other sister who lives near the home, tries take her out for the day, she panics and hates leaving the home. Like you with yr mum she can chat away to you but as you talk to her you now have to repeat her replies to her and keep yr our sentances short. She's also at the angry stage, seems to be at that stage yrs to be honest, and even though she does not know any of us, she keeps looking at a photo of my dad, and says " I know I'm here cause you left me", she never recovered from his death. Seems they think some vitamin that is lacking and they are now saying they are a step closer to curing it. I'm involved as much as I can in fund raising, and my lads are too. Mostly for improvement in the day care centre's, these are vital for the families, who need to try have time for their self. My thought with you and yr mum.
