I went to my regular Dr yesterday for my diabetic check. He was almost as excited as I was! My A1C was again 5.8. And I do not take any meds for it! :). My weight down too which Dr couldn't praise me enough for! :) My other numbers looked good too! The only one off a bit was Triglycerides. I was taken off 4 meds last year including Metformin for diabetes and cholesterol control med because of pretty serious kidney issues and the meds were bad for my kidneys. Kidneys have improved greatly since dropping the meds and eating less animal protein, less sodium, and more water consumption have all helped. Dr said reducing cholesterol level would improve triglycerides. Anyone with ideas for other sources of protein, I would appreciate your suggestions! I am eating for my health now and hope to continue to lose weight in the process! :). All in all a great appointment!

Went out to dinner today to celebrate my Dad's 80th birthday! I did some preplanning before going to the restaurant eating healthy and leaving fully satisfied! I am proud of myself knowing each good choice makes the next one easier! I have decided not to get on the scale only on my weigh in day. I realize how much weight can fluctuate from day to day and I am trying to leave that stress out of my life! It is going to be a good week! :)

Having a rough morning with an upset stomach, Eating what I can just trying to get through the day without ruining my low carb eating! this is just another test for me to show myself I am really ready for a lifestyle eating change. This is just a bump in the road through my new journey! I can handle this! :-)

First week weigh in! Always a big loss because of water, but I am still so excited! :)
Following a low carb, high protein diet now! Dr recommended this for me and seems to keep me full. I have no cravings for a change! Taking it all one day at a time! I want to make these changes so I can live with them as my new lifestyle! I am going to do this! :-)
