Is this okay? Im in phase one of Atkins, I have been working out an hour a day taking my vitamins drinking lots of water, and also replacing a meal with a Atkins Advantage Shake. It says on the can its okay to have during phase one, but im wondering if its okay to have all the time?

I'm pretty sure it's safe for continued use; however, since you are working out an hour a day, you need to make sure you are consuming enough calories so your metabolism doesn't drop. Be careful since you are using the shake as a meal replacement; make sure your calories don't drop below about 1200 a day. Hope this helps.

I drink Atkins Shakes every day regardless of the Atkins phase I am in. They only have 1 to 2 grams of carbohydrate and no sugar alcohols, so they really have minimal impact on your total carb count. They have lots of protein and vitamins. I'd keep drinking them if they fit in with your schedule better than a meal, but I do agree with the previous comment, go ahead and eat 3 low carb meals if possible, even if one of them is just an egg and cheese omlet along with that shake.

i make sure I always have some extra protein before exercise. I really need the energy! Try and extra shake 30 mins before or a protein drink. I have one that is 0.4 carbs per serve and 45 cal. You can also buy a supplement mentioned in the Atkins book for before exercise. L-carnitine. Shake wont hurt at all.
