I am at a loss. Apparently exercising does not help me lose weight- just makes me sore and tired.
I really hoped starting to exercise every day would help shed some pounds. Two weeks of working out every day but Saturdays and I am back to where I started. I would like to tell myself it's muscle and muscle weighs more than fat but I feel like that's what people say to make you feel better about no progress. Ugh.

The body is very efficient in storage of fat and using very little of it imagine depending on how fat you are you need to walk 3 miles to burn only 300 cal so you cant beat the body at utilizing calories thats why exercising doesn't work, you will need a ridiculous amount of it to succeed. and your body will reward you with muscles which are heavier and even more efficient. CUTTING CAL INTAKE is what works because there just not there and the body has to use what it has for daily activities. if you add exercises then you will loose faster.

Yes - You will never be able to out run/lift/jump/sprint a bad chef. Get the chef in check and the rest will fall into place. Try and be consistent with what you eat. If your WOE isn't working, try another one but keep at it for 3 or 4 weeks before you move on. Good luck!

I think we sometimes mistake why we should exercise. Exercise can increase flexibility, endurance, strength, and contribute to your sense of well being. So it has a really positive place in a healthy lifestyle plan. However as far as weight loss goes it does not make up for poor dietary choices. Your heathy, moderate, and planned eating choices are what is going to make the Difference on the scale. Hope this helps.

very well said guys I will share something with you I have experienced if I eat 400 cal per day I loose a ridiculously fast 2 pounds a day. tried and tested if I do 600 to 800 I loose 1 to half a pound a day and if I eat 1400 cal I don't loose any thing I maintain completely that is my fat secret if I put it that way.

I have cut my calories but I guess not enough. How low can you go on calories before you slow down metabolism? I don't want my body to go into fat storing mode.

Your metabolism will begin to slow down after a few days, maybe a week at most (anecdotal) but as long as you cut your calories by like 5% or so every few weeks. With such a small change, over a longer period of time, it won't be as a great as a shock to your body and will cause less of an issue in the long run. Your metabolism will eventually slow down but not to the point where you need to be worried. We want to be able to diet as many calories as possible to help maintain a higher metabolism. You need to use a reasonable and realistic caloric intake. I suggest you use this calculator: https://goo.gl/lDDXTE and here is some background on the terms used: https://goo.gl/aLDSwu . Try and stick to those calories and be regimented about it. If you cut your calories by too much, your metabolism will slow down; you decided by how much and by eating above this new, lower metabolism, you will store the excess for use later, this is why we need to be conservative with our calorie cuts. Good luck!

Keep up the good work with the exercise! It's a cryin' shame that we don't see the results of exercise as quickly as we see results from food restriction. Working out a good routine for yourself will payoff and with sensible eating, give the most lasting benefit. The muscle you build today, will keep your metabolism up as you gradually cut your calories back.

You should really do some measurments and track your progress not on scale only. But if it will help you to not give up - It may be the amount of salt. try to reduce it. i had same weight 2 month in a row while training my ass off. And today is the first day i see any result not in cm but in kg's too
