Diario de Katsolo, 14 oct. 18

Well, yesterday ended up completely off track once I got to the grocery store. I was in there, about halfway done and the power went out. Very dark, very interesting. Stayed about 15 minutes hoping it would come back on, but it ended up being at least four more hours from what I saw on the news. So then, it was a total reconfiguration of what needed to get done. Went to the phone store since it was down the street. That was empty and they had power, so took care of some stuff there to kill time. Power still wasn't on at the grocery store, so told them to take my stuff and put it back. Sadly, this is my "bulk" store, and there were some things I wanted you just can't find easily at other stores without paying a lot more (talking about you, steel cut oats and chia seeds). Ended up at Costco. Got 7lbs of steel cut oats since they had it. Trying to figure out where to put them. I've been feeding the dogs more home cooked food lately, so they're going to be sharing some of that oatmeal with me along with sweet potatoes and green beans. It's stew season, after all. Hello, Instant Pot and timer function.

Got some almond flour to work on a replacement for the Optavia cookie mix next. Diet absolutely works, but the cost is becoming a real issue for my personal finances, so I gotta move on to something I can better afford. I'm already back to fighting shape, so as long as I watch my overall intake and keep moving, I think I can keep the momentum going. I know my macros, I know I have to keep moving my body and I have learned that many small meals is much better for me than one or two larger ones. Still holding at 152.5 this morning. All good.

By the time I got home, we had more thunderstorms. I'll swim in the rain, but lightning is a non-starter.

Today, we decorate for Halloween. Trying to decide if I need to buy new spiderwebs or if the gross disgusting ones that are a couple of years old are actually better. Sadly, I have to decorate inside the porch as cool stuff tends to grow legs in the middle of the night in these parts. It'd would be cool if it were from ghosts or ghouls, but I don't think it is. Trying to decide whether to carve or paint the pumpkin. If I paint, I can eat it later, right?

Enjoy the marvelous fall weather. This is my favorite time of year, even in sunny SoCal.
