Dont get discouraged! Weight loss takes a long long time. I lose about 5 lbs in a whole month! it can be challenging to stay on track but you have to look at the big picture. It took a long time go put the weight on and it will some time for it to come off to. Dont worry!

Yes it took me 3 years to put it on, because of medications which I don't take anymore. So I should lose it in 3 years? lol

Any "wonderful" story you read began with that first pound lost and oh-so-many yet to go. Slow and steady wins the race every time. This is also a journey of discovery....discovering how your body works, how it responds to different foods, how it reacts to various changes in diet, etc. Your journey will be unlike anyone else's and the pace of weight loss will be unique and will change from time to time. Our bodies are wonderful creations, but they do throw us a curve from time to time and we need to embrace and learn from those surprises, even though it takes time. Just keep on keepin' on!

Sandy is right, every BODY is different, and each of our journeys started differently.

Looking at your diet log also gives a few clues to me why you aren't losing. If your diet calandar is accurate you won't lose weight that way. You should be eating 12-15 net carbs in veggies per day. One day I saw you ate eggs all day? Several days also you are eating only 2 meals instead of three. Your body probably thinks you are starving it, and when that happens, weight stays with you. Your pie chart at the bottom should be about 60-70 percent fat, 10 percent carbs, and the rest protein.

Try looking at the diet calendar of those who have that success and see what they are eating compared to what you are eating. With Atkins the higher calories and fat, the faster most bodies respond and start burning fat.

Icymaiden your absolutly correct! Maylane it's been 9 days? and you are ready to throw in the towel. you should see my history it looks like a EKG but i am sticking to it and no it did not happen in 9 days. Yes I did induction for almost three months...(took me that long to do it right!) Yes it may take three years, but this is a life style change as well. Yes Meds can really do a number on our bodies, but we are the ones that put the junk in our trunks. The sooner you take responciblity for you situation the soon you will win you war with food. It takes time there is no magic over night remidy for weight loss just plain old stick to it and US here at FS. Hang in there, take the sugestions they are coming for those who you said you didn't want to hear about any more. Ironic huh? Heather

I stayed on induction for at least 3 months as well. I've been on the atkins merry go round successfully 3 times, and unsuccessfully twice (those are the times when, like you, after 2 weeks, I said, it's not fast enough, it's not working, it's too hard) but I was lying to myself, because I had done atkins twice before with Success. The 2 failures I had, were not the diet, but my own mindset. You have to want it more than you've wanted anything else in your life.

For what it's worth? I'd "start over" beginning immediately and follow the program the way you should. Icy is right... a day of nothing but eggs isn't going to help you lose weight or successfully meet your goals. Many of us record all of our veggies in the "snacks" section. This allows you to be certain that you are getting all of your veggie carbs. This site is an excellent place for support - and accountability. If simply journaling or being a member of a group doesn't work for you - reach out... find someone that you have deemed as "successful" at this and ask to be a buddy. Ask for an accountability partner. If you do this program properly it will work. It won't always mean 5 or 6 pound losses, but it will be steady, healthy weight loss. You CAN do it! We're all rooting for you!
