Tiff, I know food can be a powerful stronghold and you have a lot of supporters here on this site. I also know how very difficult it can be to feel that your healthy lifestyle is a solo endeavor esp. in a house full of folks. May I suggest that you start small and make little changes the your family might not even notice. Very young children are adaptable and will eventually come along with the food game plan (i.e., make Oatmeal Choc Chip cookies instead of buying Oreos) Start keeping fruit on-hand like grapes or bananas -- which are very kid-friendly dipped in chocolate and frozen. It seems like your husband may be the holdout and that's okay too. Start off asking him to join you for Meatless Mondays and New Food Fridays -- make those your "wow" healthy recipes. Try something healthier but reminiscent of something he already likes (check out nomnompaleo.com OR cookinglight.com OR thekitchn.com). There's much to be said about a well-stocked fridge and pantry. You've got to plan your meals before you and the family are hungry. Most of all, remember this is your life and your health. You are not a failure but simply falling forward into the right plan that's going to work for you! Put the barriers around your emotions where you need them so you can do this for you. ((hugs))!
