I met an Olympian yesterday. Yeah, I'm awesome. LOL I went to my running class as usual Tuesday night and Brian Sell was there doing a meet n' greet with folks. And since I know no one knows who Brian Sell is... he's an elite marathoner, and just recently ran for USA in the Beijing Olympic marathon. He finished 22nd... with very bloody shoes (google it for an interesting story). I forgot which day he was going to be at the running store we meet at so I missed out on actually talking to the guy, but I got there just in time to be in a big group photo with him and to shake his hand as he was leaving. Anyway, it was pretty freakin' cool.

I'm almost not sick... almost. I don't know what weird illness I had for the last week (and then some), but I'm almost over it. I haven't been contagious for quite some time, but I'm still congested. If I could just breathe out of my nose normally again I would be happy. Oh well... on to other randomness.

My willpower has been crap lately. I don't diet when I'm sick because I don't want to deprive my body of calories/nutrients while it's repairing itself, but that mentality has carried over too long into the "normal" routine now. I even managed to drink a soda (gasp!) and eat fast food (double gasp!) in the last week. It may have only been a Sonic Wacky Pack kid's meal, but fast food nonetheless (mmmm... grilled cheese). Anyway, today is my official reset. I realized I was messing up my progress and I'm correcting it. I go get new groceries today and I'm back on track ASAP.

randomness2) A Munich school teacher once said that ten-year old Albert Einstein would "never amount to much." In 1962, the Decca Recording Company said as they turned down the Beatles," We don’t like their sound. Groups with guitars are on their way out."

randomness3) According to my best recollection... I don't remember.

randomness4) Crime doesn't pay. Does that mean my job is a crime?

randomness5) Hard work has a future payoff. Laziness pays off NOW!

Okay, let me get this straight...you meet an Olympian and that makes YOU awesome? I met Tom Clancy AND Carl Sagan, does that make me DOUBLE awesome? LOL For congestion: take 1/2 c water, add 1/2 tsp salt, snort that stuff up your nose - drainage is a wonderful thing!!!! Glad you are feeling better! Aaaah, grilled cheese...and for randomness 3, get used to it, it's the first sign you are getting old...

I might get desperate enough to try that... but I'll wait 'till I get home. There are enough rumors goin' around this office without me getting caught snorting mysterious substances in the bathroom. LOL
