121 lbs on the dot!
Ecstatic. Lost 44 lbs since Feb on Atkins.

I've lost the weight the healthy way and with my past this was the bigger challenge. It has taken me 8 months (minus a few days) to get to my goal weight. :)
Like I wrote in yesterday's journal, its all about maintenance from here on out. *fingers crossed*

How do you maintain using Atkins? What happens if you start eating carbs? Just curious about how it works.

Corinna; you maintain by continuing to monitor your carb intake; by adding back the carbs, the healthy ones, not the junk that caused you to gain the weight in the first place, add them back a little at a time, until you reach what's called a critical carbohydrate level, the level at which your weight stays the same, without adding back the pounds, and if you do start gaining, then cut back, to a slightly lower level. A person's weight is going to fluctuate naturally anyway, but as long as you don't gain back more than 5 pounds, then you will always be within striking distance of your goal weight. Like ShyGuy said, to maintain you have to introduce carbs slowly into your diet. 5grams of net carbs at a time. You keep adding 5g week after week and once you stop losing weight you stop. That's your individual CCL (Critical Carbohydrate Level). I have a hunch mine is around 50-60 grams of net carbs. I'll be happy with that. If you are interested in a LC WOL you should read up on it over the web and buy some books like the "New Atkins for a New You" and "Why we Get Fat..." Find out if its the "right" choice for you.
