Went over my calorie budget today by about 100 calories, but rode my bike for 45 minutes. I'm so afraid I'm going to gain back all my weight. It was one of those days I got really hungry. I'd like to know how to stay within budget every single day, because if I knew how, I'd do it. :(
I don't have a mobile, so I have to remember everything I ate until I can get to my computer. Sometimes I write it down on paper first, but even that is really tricky because if I'm in the kitchen and my notebook is in a drawer somewhere, and I get really hungry, I just start eating and tell myself I'll write it all down later.. And that's how I trick my brain into thinking I'm not eating over my allowance. This is my biggest downfall, not
what
I eat. My diet is really clean, but it's monotonous because I have so many food intolerances I can't eat a lot of different foods. Wish I loved vegetables more.
This is a real challenge. I don't know if I'll ever lose that last 20 pounds at this rate.

I keep failing the 1200 calorie challenge. I'm good for six days, and then on the seventh I can't stop eating.
It's awful. I didn't pass this week or last week. I only lost .2 of a pound this week. It's better than gaining, but I lose .2 then I gain .2 but I can't seem to lose a whole pound. Grrrrrrrr.
It's been easy to exercise 30 minutes or more a day, and easy not to eat after 8:30 pm, but I don't think I'm going to do 7 days in a row every week with only 1200 calories. I wish I knew the secret. Today I just ate and ate and ate and ate...bwah!!!
Oh well, at least I'm only eating really healthy food.
Is anyone else on the 1200 calorie challenge and having trouble with it?

So far meeting my three challenges this week, but it feels like the scales are going to be stuck or go up again at the end.
I think what happens is when you exercise a lot your body holds on to glycogen/water for awhile and it looks like you're gaining real weight, but that's not what's happening. So when the scale reads higher next weigh-in, I think this is what will cause it. I hope that's what it is.

Emotional eating today. Bored. I never get bored. Haven't gone over my budget yet, but I will if I'm not careful.
I don't eat grains at all, and today is one of those days I'd love a big fat slice of sour dough slathered with butter, or a cupcake. Dang!
Made up a recipe on the spot with some coconut flour banana bread without sugar and only 2T coconut oil. It's kind of dry, but so far I've managed to eat only one thin slice.
I hate those days when I know something is in the kitchen and I want to go out and nibble on it a thousand times a day. So, I either have to leave home or occupy my mind with other things. It will pass. Pretty soon I'll get out and do some bicycling or walking or weight lifting...something, anything.
It really helps to journal.

Weight fluctuations, especially the ones that go UP make me want to give up. I'll go for weeks around the same weight and I keep thinking it's a plateau. It gets so frustrating and I always think I'm doing something wrong. But I'm also learning that weight loss isn't a ski slope, it's more like a flight of stairs. The body adjusts to changes and it's a slow process.
I'm learning how to eat, how to exercise, how to listen to my body, not to compare myself to others, and most of all to be patient.
I read yesterday that vigorous exercise can cause the body to store glycogen in response to inflammation, along with water, so that whenever we do a lot of exercising weight sometimes goes UP rather than down (crazy!) until the body lets go of that water. I'm just writing this so I can look back later and remind myself.
I started at 167 in September. It's now March and I'm at 143. My goal is 125. It's slow going, but steady with ups and downs, which is normal.
I used to think I could lose 5-10 pounds a month. Now I know better. Slow and healthy is the way to go.
