I have to say I am surprised I haven't shown a gain on the scale. It IS the 2nd day of my cycle and I had a loss on the scale yesterday and held it steady today. HOORAY! I was expecting at least a LITTLE gain. Anyway, thanks to mother nature's little gift, I don't feel that great today. However, for the first time in what seems like forever, I am not experiencing cramps or migraines. I am going to attribute that to the difference in diet between this month and last.

Well, I can definitely start seeing results. It's gratifying to know that my hard work is paying off. After years of (100% failed) dieting, it's nice to find a lifestyle that allows for weight loss and makes it EASY! I don't feel deprived or jealous of what others are eating (for the first time in my life). On a side note, I am the kind of person that likes to research and dig into all nooks and crannies of whatever it is I am "into" at the time. I have now added several books on Keto/LCHF lifestyles into my Kindle collection, as well as having watched a medical seminar online. The more I read and understand about LCHF, the more it makes PERFECT sense....it's just sad that the political culture in the US has kept this lifestyle from being the recommended baseline for American Nutrition, considering (up to) 80% of the population suffers from some kind of metabolic disease, whether it's carb intolerance, diabetes, etc. It's the same political culture that keeps the government from allowing the Egg Council from being able to state that eggs are "nutritious" or "healthy", or a "good source of protein". I just have to shake my head at the people driving this bus lol. Anyway, enough of my soapbox. Everyone have an awesome St. Patty's Day!

So here I am yet again, journaling my new knowledge. I was recently privy to some new knowledge (thanks Nick224) regarding HOW Keto calculators actually work (the math behind them anyway). I RE-calculated my macros and it turns out I have been eating not only too many calories in general, but have not been getting the correct ratios of F>P>C. I have also watched a medical seminar online regarding nutritional ketosis and understand more WHY this should be a MODERATE protein lifestyle. Turns out, I have been eating too much protein, or at least proteins have been a higher percentage of my daily caloric intake than they SHOULD be. So, that being said, the protein I have been eating has no doubt been giving my body little (unnecessary) blood sugar spikes. Now that I know and understand this, it will be easier to avoid in the future. The problem I face however (and I haven't figured out how to overcome this) is getting enough FIBER in my diet, without adding extra carbs. From a medical standpoint, women should get around 25g of fiber daily, men almost 40g. I have battled colon issues my entire adult life(diverticulitis, and perforated colon resulting in a re-section of my colon). This seems like a conundrum of sorts. I think I just had a small epiphany! If I scale back the amount of MEAT based protein, and increase the amount of VEGGIES that contain protein, perhaps I will be able to hit my targets. I will have to experiment in the diet calendar. More to follow. I am a work in progress.

Starting to notice a few little changes in my body with regards to the way I look. A little slimmer in the face/neck, belly starting to shrink. Also easier to get my exercise every day, which is a good sign. All these things are so motivating to me! No turning back, no cheating myself out of my goals!

My calorie intake was down yesterday due to meal timing issues, but apparently it paid off lol. We just keep on truckin along. I have to say I am so happy to be firmly entrenched in my weight loss reality....and with a "diet" that's more of a lifestyle. That means, in the long run, it will be ezpz to keep these habits strong!
