I thought I had been good weighing out all food, but I have been taking FS for granted. For instance I have bacon every morning and have been logging 2 slices of 'Bacon (Cured, Broiled, Pan-Fried or Roasted, Cooked)' which logs as 1.42 carb / 13.65 protein / 171 cals.
I weighed the cooked bacon which came to 1.4 ounces for 2 slices, this came out as .57 carb / 14.70 protein / 215 cals.
Which is lower on carbs but higher in protein and cals. It isn't a lot of difference, but not being accurate can mount up in a day.
Old English verb comes to mind about watching pennies and the £'s will look after themselves.

I am trying my best to stop jumping on the scales until next Saturday.
Feeling quite pleased with myself that I actually enjoyed a black cup of coffee without cream, caffeine or sweeteners. This was something I thought I would never be able to do. But I've learnt something today; it isn't the way the coffee is made that I was scared of losing, but it is that lovely moment at the start of the day where I curl up on my sofa and just muse for 10 or 15 minutes. This morning I had my moments with a black cup of decaff coffee and guess what - the world didn't morph into chaos!
I'm now counting total carbs, eating 3 meals a day and I'm going to have 2 snacks.
John's feeling really happy today, he is wearing a pair of new jeans that he has had for a couple of years - they are new because he couldn't fit into them before. Also he's having to wear a belt to hold them up. He's been in shorts for 6 months, but the weather is turning a little cold in the mornings, hence the jeans.

We've been leaving food on our plates these couple of days. So I've promised not to serve up too much at meal times. Both of us never finished our salad today and yesterday I've been told that the brocolli and cauli that I put on John's plate would have done us both. This is amazing as we'd been big huge dinner eaters.
This woe is such an adventure. Neither of us are missing pasta/rice/potatoes. John has missed his fruit and I guess I have missed my chocolate treats - but that is all. John is now having 1 peach and 3 plums a day and is still losing. I daren't even think about chocolate, but I'm enjoying the cocoa drink that I make with 1 teaspoon of cocoa. I've thrown my sweetners to the back of my larder where all the other non-friendly Atkins foods has been stashed when I stated this woe. I suppose I should have given the food away or binned it.
I've not recorded my weight as I've not lost anything for quite a while although I've got this half pound that I keep gaining and losing. I think I have been strictly adhearing to Induction over the past few days so surely something must give soon. Wonder if I should drop to 15 carbs a day just to see what happens?
Hanging in though as John is losing great and wants to get down just another 14 pounds, so for his sake I'm committed, just hope I can drop some of those pounds before he reaches his target.

Well I´ve not lost a thing all week. I can understand it if I had been on Atkins for a while but 23 days is a bit soon to freeze.
I had to give myself a good talk, and have taken Paula's advice and stated to follow Induction cleanly. Carrots, coconut milk, fresh coconut and strawberries had creapt in. But I've now got to grips again. I don't think I have been too bad, but I've been experimenting, which is typical of me, I always have to try to find the short route.
I craved the the taste of coconut and I thought I could get away with it (I've thrown the remainder away). The thing with the carrots was that I genuinely thought carrots was acceptable on Phase 1, but when I learnt it wasn't I thought it didn't matter as I was then losing pounds. Carrots are one of my favourite veg, next to peas ( :)not a pea has passed my lips I´m pleased to say). I have to force brocolli and cabbage down. It is the same with lettuce, but a good shake of the balsamic vinegar bottle makes that yummy.
I do find my digestive tract rather slow, so when I had success yesterday in that department, I thought I must have lost this morning. I woke up about 5 a.m. for the bathroom and I thought I'd just check on the scales, I was horrified to find that I was 2 pounds heavier! In the old days that would have sent me in a spin and the diet out of the window. I went back to bed lecturing myself. After visiting the bathroom 2 more times, I climbed on the scales again at my normal time of about 8.30 and guess what, that 2 pounds had gone.
I'm desperately trying to get an angle on my new way of eating - to find the best routine for me.
Another good thing I've noticed, I have a 12 inch scar from my wrist to the inside of my elbow (surgeons removed a vein to patch me up elsewhere). The scar has been looking very ugly and noticeable with lots of pulls and bumps in it. I noticed the scar today, and found that it is now smooth and flat. It is hardly noticeable now. Got to remain positive!

Feeling like miss grumpy today. I feel tired and irritable. Maybe it is because not a drop of caffeine has passed my lips for 5 days. Apart from having one headache, I think I´ve got off the caffeine quite well really.
But... I have plans for next week:
I am going to bag up foods where I can, in the correct quantities that I use - to make life easier and stopping that habbit of tipping too many net carbs than I should.
All my previous meals that I used cook, you know the staple ones, I have an urge to re-write the recipes, re-doing them to our new WOE.
These two ideas have got to be good for dropping a few unnecessary net carbs and calories.
