Had
serious
cravings for fat today, hence the positive net calories. Gotta make more fat bombs tomorrow, which is good because I have
beaucoups
blueberries, and I
love
blueberries!
After getting up super-early in order to do my laundry, I took an hour-and-a-half nap, but slept very lightly. Maybe that's what the fat yearnings were about, 'cause I sure needed the energy.
My sink full of dishes is calling to me :-) gotta go.

Far out: negative net carbs again! Wubba-wubba-wubba!
Those veggie burgers by "Amy's" are mighty tasty (a little Olive Oil was all it needed) and, once I get another job, they will
definitely
be on my shopping list again and again.
Since I have to get up at Zero Dark Thirty (and, this far north, that's mighty early!) to do my laundry, it's time to sign out and step away from the computer.

Got up at a decent time, so I had breakfast. For some reason, about 3 hours after lunch, I had a
mad
craving for avocados.
Mad, I tell you, mad!
:-) I ate 2 of them, in fact, one right after the other. Now I feel "normal," more like myself. Mega-weird...
One of the things that kept me up last night was watching a bunch of interviews with Functional Medicine and regular MDs. One call focused on menopausal women: that doctor said that two of the 3 things a woman could do for a "magical menopause" -- her term, not mine! -- are 1)to get & keep her body in ketosis, and 2)to keep it alkaline (the 3rd one is to Stay Positive.). So I fixed myself a 16-oz mug of Vinegar Water after lunch, and will down another one before dinner. The closest drug stores don't sell both pH and keto test strips, unless you have to ask a pharmacist for them. I'll check the other pharmacies on Broadway before I save up to order them from Amazon. I have
had it
with these danged hot flashes!!!

Tee hee hee: made 1 more recipe of Instant (Almost) Coconut Milk than I had jars to store it (in order to empty the can of Coconut Cream), so I mixed it up in my 16-oz mug and drank it. This put me over the RDI of calories, and sent my net calories into the positive area. Too bad, I'm not stressing over it (it was too tasty to do that), because I stressed over trying to find another pint jar, thus running out of that stress hormone :-)
After a full day of cooking, I can report that frying in a parchment-lined pan works beautifully. I
highly
recommend it! I did make one variation, for the mini-tacos (which had to be cooked in 1/4 inch of coconut oil): I formed the parchment to the bottom and sides of the pan before heating the pan. Works like a charm! This is the point at which I would advise my friends to buy stock in Parchment Paper, as I intend to buy lots of it. :-D

Holy crap!! That stupid $bux lemonade-tea has
332.83 calories
???!? Did they put a
pound
of sugar in the drink or something?
Are they kidding??!!
Gadzooks, that's gross! Let's just see whether I ever order one of those again! EVER. Fortunately, my yarn-spinning friends showed up soon, so I was well distracted with wonderful company, but I'm going back to the plain tea as far as $bux is concerned.
One good thing -- perhaps the
only
good thing -- about it is that I now know, for certain, that it was the sugar that triggered those 3 days of chocolate-bar-binging. I have had
such
a craving for sugar all evening: I've gone through 4 of the blackberry fat bombs since dinner, and that coconut butter is looking mighty tasty right now... YIKES!!
And now, for something completely different: just watched the new Brothers Green Eats video (LOVE those guys!), showing how to make any pan a non-stick pan in seconds. What he did (and how I cooked tonight's mini-tacos) was, heat up the pan and then
place parchment paper on the pan
. After that, cook as usual. So now, I speak from experience: IT WORKS!! And, an unannounced bonus is, clean-up is WAAAAAAAY easier & simpler, as in, no pan to wash! Cool!
