Right in time for the red and green. Really good looking plate and when it looks good we get positive reinforcement for our efforts.

Dont avoid carbs all together. They are actually what 'fuels' your brain. Some carbs are good for you

Kayvdoon - we actually dont *need* to eat a single carb - ever. Our body will convert the fat that we eat (and have stored) into useable energy. Its true that our brains use carbs - but because they are usually readily available. Carbs are not the only source of brain "fuel". People are capable, of not only surviving on extremely low carbs, but of thriving. Even endurance athletes (lile ultra runners who run 50 to 100+ miles at one time) can thrive on extremely low carb diets.

Mickidoodle , that looks like a perfect plate that has good carbs on it. Don't fear carbs. Minimize your consumption of overly processed carbs and starchy ones. You will find your balance.

Mickidoodle, Like Chesgreen said don't fear carbs!
What I say is carbs=glucose which gives you the energy to perform on runs, weight's etc.Your body can only store enough glycogen for about 90mins.it's stored in your liver&muscles.Runners especially long distance runners, weight lifters etc.definitely will carb load, especially before a competition.so an outside source of carbs are important daily, which amount depends on your activity. Finally with regular feeding's of carbs, protein's etc. and exercise our bodies will start releasing that grandfathered stored fat.
I hope this info was helpful to you.
