I have always had insomnia and as a result, I am still dragging again today. Every activity took more effort than usual. When I get in bed this evening I am going to stay there even if I have to stare at the ceiling until the alarm goes off. I stayed on plan today even though I have been having severe cravings for sweet tarts. I ate a chew-able Vitamin C tablet instead which made me want to eat another one. That means I ate two.

Don't stare at the ceiling!!!! Try to relax and let your mind go blank. That helped me through many sleepless nights and allows me to function the next day :)

Try counting backwards, by 2's from 100. It will occupy your 'monkey mind", the analytical part that rehashes the day, worries about tomorrow, etc. If you make it to zero, start over. With each number, breathe deep, and exhale the number. ;)

The best trick I have found..... Breath in for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds, breath out for 8 seconds, focus on that and it will help you fall asleep! :) http://www.medicaldaily.com/life-hack-sleep-4-7-8-breathing-exercise-will-supposedly-put-you-sleep-just-60-332122

Fryxx - I have also heard of that breathing technique - It's meant to be super effective.
I have also heard of wiggling - wiggle your toes for a few seconds, then rotate your ankles, then tense and untense your calves, then you thighs, then your tummy, wiggle your fingers, tenses and untense your arms, then your shoulder then move your head side to side gently......And repeat. It is apparently very relaxing.
