Diario de livelifefully, 28 nov. 09

We are in Texas visiting family for one more night. I know my weight is up b/c of the many eating opportunities we have had here. I'm trying to be somewhat careful. It kind of grossed me out today how much indulgence there was at lunch. I was very aware of what I was eating and not going to gorge myself like what was going on. Seriously most everyoone was having a shake with a burger and fries then ice cream then popcorn and candy at a movie. Yuck. I ate a grilled chicken sandwich, 1/2 a frozen yogurt and had a bit of popcorn but not much. Not to say my eating has been virtuous b/c it hasn't but I am trying to be aware of all the the excess calories that can be had if we are not aware of what we are doing and just mindlessly eat.

I'm reading the book "The End of Overeating" by David Kessler. It explores the food industry and all they do to make us desire and uncontrollably eat with fat and sugar wrapped up in delicious dishes. It's not as good of a read as I thought it would but it is good. It's making me more aware at least.

Well, time to go. We will be driving back all day tomorrow. This has been a well needed break with time to read on the deck by the lake. My inlaws live on a lake so it has been nice and relaxing.
