It's the hours between dinner (7:00PM) and bedtime (11:00) that are sabotaging my plan.

It is tough to watch TV and not have a glass of wine. It's then tough to have a glass of wine and not have the crackers and cheese with it. It's then hard to pass up another glass of wine.

I'm not much of a wine drinker, don't drink all that much of any alcoholic beverage actually, but if you just delete the crackers and make it a dry, red wine, and your glass is not huge, you should be okay. The problem is when A glass becomes 2-3 along with a box of crackers and a pound of cheese, LOL! Make sure it's a hard cheese...lower carbs...and you nibble on an ounce or so while sipping on 4-8 ounces of dry, red wine...definitely NOT my thing, but it's supposed to be good for you. Looks like you are doing well on the weight loss anyway.

Yes!! I agree! I call those hours The Danger Zone! Unfortunately, it's hard to change old habits of wine and crackers, fortunately they have low carb versions (maybe not the crackers).

This is the reason I think the "breakfast is the most important meal of the day" meme deserves a huge amount of the blame for making us fat. The more I eat early in the day, the hungrier I feel late in the day. the idea that I'm supposed to eat my last meal of the day 4 or 5 hours before bedtime and then go to bed hungry just doesn't fly for me. It sets me up to "graze" all evening, or if I manage the willpower to avoid that, I get out of bed around 1:00 AM and eat a big bowl of something carbolicious. It's better to eat European style, with the last meal later in the evening.

Yes I agree with you. Prior to my weight loss I would drink whenever I wanted to. When I decided to start losing weight, I limited my alcohol intake to just weekends (2 days a week) and that was just a beer or two, max per day. I found those days made me gain a pound or two on Mondays/Tuesdays but then I was back to losing weight during the week. I found it was a compromise to help me keep not feeling totally deprived. Now that I have lost the weight, I have kept it to just weekends and as a bonus, I have become a light-weight/cheap date. LOL. Good luck to you. I hope you find a happy medium.
