I procrastinate nasty tasks constantly - use the 5 minute idea. I decide on something I can do for 5 minutes - after 5 minutes I decide if I can stand doing it for longer. 99% of the time you are on your way.
I have ADD so big tasks are just so overwhelming and I find that I can take 5 minutes of just about anything. 5 minutes every 15 minutes may drag stuff out but it's still better than 0 minutes and those little chunks add up.
