ATTACK OF THE VEGGIES....

anybody who likes RACHAEL RAY will like this...she is soooo down to earth and kind hearted...

last year DHL pulled out of wilmington (the little city where i live) and over 8,000 people lost thier jobs, so needless to say the town has a lot of hardships and people doing without the basics...

my hubby works part time for the local lowes, setting up appliances, he found out the RACHAEL RAY is coming to wilmington on nov 8th and doing a thanksgiving dinner for the town...how cool is that

i also called today to volunteer to help serve at this dinner, so i might get to see/meet her...

not much on the personal front, and havent tried any new veggies lately...did have chicken noodle soup made with carrots and parsnips, celery and someother stuff that was really good...i like parsnips...the carrots were ok and i like celery...lol...

have a wonderful fs day...

Wow that's pretty exciting. Hopefully you will get to meet her and how nice of her to do a Thanksgiving Dinner. Glad you're doing well with those veggies veggie!

That's cool!!! I like her. I don't care for her cooking lingo but she's fine. Last night I made some roasted carrots and mushrooms. It was delicious. I'm definitely making it again.

For the most part, I like her. I think what she is doing, as well as your volunteering is awesome!

Roasted Parnips are absolutely delicious-yummo! as Ms. Ray would say..... I am sorry your town is suffering so much-it's hard to imagine 8K people losing their almost at once. I hope the dinner lifts some spirits. Cannot wait for better times!

I stopped by to say HI after being MIA for a long time, and i'm so warmed to hear about the whole Rachel Ray and community food effort thing. I hope you do get to serve meals...it's the best and most rewarding job ever!

How terrible that your community is suffering like that. Good for her and you. I haven't tried any of her recipes but being Italian...no doubt delicioso! I wonder if she'll make turkey...?
