Diario de ObeseToBeast123, 15 jul. 24

Race went well shaved some time off my time from last year. That was my only goal and it was a difficult one to acheive, this was my best race last year. In true spartan fashion the course was longer than advertised clocking it at 7.2 miles and over 3000ft of elevation gain. I finished my race and ran directly over to the start line to run the kids 1 mile race and another 350ft of elevation gain 🤪. The heat and humidity was terrible but the kids did fantastic. They rode the chairlift up and got to see me do a bunch of obstacles at the top and got some great pics. I got some pretty bad leg cramps a few times but I gulped down some mustard packets and managed to keep going. By the end of the race my hands were completely swollen and my fingers looked like sausages making the last obstacles crazy difficult. My entire body hurts today and every single muscle is sore but I cant wait to do it all over again and take on my biggest race of the year 2 months from now.

I’m always amazed by your accomplishments! And how you involve your children! Mustard pkts for leg cramps?? Never heard of that. I eat bananas or potassium supplement.

You guys went BEAST TRIBAL MODE!!!! Congratulations on beating your personal best. Now use all those good recovery techniques like a cool bath to sooth muscle inflamation, some good strecthes, massage and just rest. Amazing.

wifey9707 haha no pics of my hands sorry but they were really swollen. ohh and my achilles is doing fine even a few days later its the only thing that doesn't hurt 😁🤣

neicy Can yeah the heat was ridiculous there were people passing out all over the course! one person even passed. out at the start gate 🤦‍♂️ I was very prepared in that regard I cut most of my caffeine for a few days prior and was drinking electrolytes for 3 days. had plenty of gels for the course and had liquid iv in my backpack and added a squenchers packet at every water station. I was laughing at the one water station someone saw me adding the packet and the were like well someone works outside 🤣 lots of company's give their workers these drink packets haha

Yay for your Achilles. 👍🏻 I may benefit from those packets…sign me up. Are they good for people that work inside yet profusely sweat? I’m dying in this weather at work. Really! The heatwave is draining me. Workouts are suffering too much. Got up extra early this morning to get it done at the coolest point of the day before I go to work. Can’t let it suffer anymore. I’ve never skipped on workouts until recently, and of course, my arm is a major factor and an excuse I’ve been using. I have to do what I can and forget about the arm right now. 😅
