I started day 1 of week 9 of the C25K plan. This is the final week of the plan, where I am required to run for 30 minutes solid. There are two more runs left before graduating.
I have been using the podcast religiously throughout the plan and I actually grew fond of Laura's reassuring and soothing voice. I wonder what it will feel like to run without hearing her once I graduate. It may sounds silly but she definitely contributed to motivate me by merely saying a few words of encouragement.
I went out at around 8:10 AM to avoid the rain, ran and then decided to come back home by another route, through Barley Lane, in the hope that it may be quicker because I knew the rain would start at around 9:30 or 10. I had never used that road before.
It proved to be faster and the scenery was superb, as the road is on a hill that dominates the whole town, but the slope was quite steep and it proved hard-going. It had already started to rain when I reached the front door and I found the house empty, as my partner had gone to get the newspapers. We read both The Times and The Guardian on the weekend, to have different views and opinions. The Times is rightwing while the Guardian is leftwing. Both papers are broadsheets and *very* serious in their articles and investigations. In other words, they are not rags like the Daily Mail or The Sun. This is not to say that I don't read the Daily Mail and the Sun: I do on occasion, in pubs and snacks, to take the pulse. But I wouldn't go and buy them.
Today, both front pages were about the terror attacks in Paris last night. It was a shock as I hadn't watched the news or even switched on the computer before going out... I had no idea of the atrocities that had been perpetrated.
