well the last few days training went as I said it would, did 4 miles every day, the only difference was I died every day, I thought I was going to have to get the defib machine out. It was extremely hard, just couldn't get my breathing right but day off tomorrow, and then hit it again on Wednesday so see if that makes a difference. I might have to put the 6 miler off for another week. Have been watching what I eat, I havnt recorded my eating or exercises, mainly due to lack of time

Hey Jim, yeah i bet it will take a while to get back in to the swing of things after your holiday, I'm sure you will be back to your fighting fit self in no time at all. Good job on the food bring good, I don't record my food on here as it takes too long but I do record it in a notebook, I also write down the calories per 100gr in my own calorie book, makes it much easier x

Maybe ease off on the pace just a little? We don't want you to ACTUALLY die!

well I have a day off today, then another three days in work so I will see what I feel like at the end of these 3 days. I might start off half a mile an hour slower and then after 2 miles speedup to my normal pace, by then all my sysgems should have kicked in. It could be that my body is getting used to what I am doing - dam those muscle memories - so it might be time to change. ill see at the end of the week.

Don't push yourself too hard, unless you have someone with you, then only go up to your limit, don't try and push on through it. Its fine if you are in peak physical condition, but can be fatal if your not.

thanks for the tips, I was being a little bit sarcastic, I play sports everyday whether its tennis, badminton, volleyball, football, occasionally basketball plus some running. I am very lucky as its actually what I do for a living. playing and coaching, plus I take circuit classes, boxercise and SAQ classes, but thanks for the advice. It was only the breathing I couldn't get right, I normally train with a heartrate of 150 - 175 but it takes me about 15 minutes to get to that.

You see far too many exercise specialists say to push through the pain barrier, but its like anything to do with health, it is all down to the individual and what they are capable of, along with the support they get. In a general sense, it was just worrying to see you say you were out of breath.

I totally agree with you, I have always said that pain is the bodies way of letting you know there is something wrong. When you work out especially in cardio form you should be working to a mild discomfort. When I mentioned I couldn't get my breathing right I was referring to a breathing sequence that you employ to mazimise your oxygen intake to get the most out of it. I should of said my breathing was slightly laboured. I know I can do 4 miles its just that that sequence wasn't right and that's what makes it harder. I completed 4 miles again today, still out breath but nothing to be concerned about. I never train if I have an injury because it will only make it worse.
