Diario de wintersmith, 30 jul. 09

Last night was a sprinting night. 20 minutes, 8 20 second sprints with walking in between. I thought it would be easier than a steady run but I was very, very wrong. Jogging I never get cramps, but I got two after my 6th and 8th sprints.

Today is an upper body HIT day. We'll see if my bench has gone up. It was 195 lbs in sets of five the last time I did a bench. I'll see about putting up a much higher weight this time.

Edit: Nope, not change in bench. My shrug went up a bit, but I was only able to crank out four on the bench press at 205. I completed the rest at 195. C'est la vie. :)

I don't have time for sprints right now because of my distance training, but after a hard sprint set my legs feel like I've been squatting. You start to understand how Olympic sprinters are so much more muscular than other runners.

Divided, I 100% agree on the sprinting. I did some of it in high school when I was throwing shot and discus. However, when track season came I as always more interested in throwing things than running. Wecandothis, thank you for that. I'm not impressive quite yet, but I aim to be. ;)

I run sprints, too and I too feel like I've done squats when I'm done. Without a doubt, I know that sprinting has helped me lose the weight that I have in the time that I have.

Shia, I absolutely agree. I'm still sore today. Hopefully that will pass before my martial arts class tomorrow. :)
