Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons are SO tough on eating and being good with temperance. There are just way too many sweets that are made or brought into the home. Various types of cookies, candies, cranberry bread with cranberry butter, fruit cake, Chex mix, homemade snack bars, Reese's Mini -cups baked in cookie dough,...and that does not even include the dishes that are prepared for lunch and dinner that include mashed potatoes, dressing / stuffing, ham, turkey, gravy...and desserts. I've had some or alot of most of it. After trying to eat and record decent breakfasts, the balance of the days turn into snack feasts plus lunch and dinner. In addition, one of the grandchildren has a birthday thrown in for good measure. A day of reckoning (read: 12/27/22) is coming. It's back to sub-1700 calorie days, focused exercise (though I am still recovering from injury), and keeping myself accountable for what I eat. In November 2018, I told myself that I would never weight 300 pounds or anywhere near it again,..PERIOD. The past month is a reminder that those pounds can come back. I will be at 180 by April. OK, I hope that everyone is having a wonderful Christmas season. It is so much fun to have most of our family in for the weekend,...including our 7 month old great-grandson. Keep focused, keep exercising, and be well. God is good.
