That film was nominated for an Oscar. Really scary results he had in just 1 month -- imagine eating that way for years! The really sad thing was all the young people he interviewed that admitted how often a week they ate at McD's and other fast food joints. I am always inspired to eat healthy whole foods after watching documentaries of sick people.

My brother and sister and I watched that together years ago. Yikes! The funny thing, though, was we all found ourselves both craving McDonald's and grossed out by it afterwards 🤣

Bananas I wish I could only imagine eating that way for years. Up until last July I would eat McDonald’s for breakfast and lunch most days of the week. Occasionally I would want a change and get Burger King.
Yup pretty disgusting.

It was interesting. He changed McDonald's. Supersizing was canceled after that documentary.

I remember it too. I never was much in McD's or any fast food places. I think perhaps it's because I like to cook. Rather eat my own food.

I had sweet potato today, too. Had it with a black bean burger and roasted broccoli! Love sprouts and mushrooms!:)

There was a guy that did the same thing with the exception of him burning those extra calories. He came out fine and gained some lean mass too I think

Yes, but Morgan had to get the Supersize every time if they offered it. And I believe it was 90% of the time. Fries were the amount of Five Guys and the soda was around 44oz. It was only about a dollar more so most would say yes to supersizing. And McDonald's made millions just by doing that.

@Super -- have you seen the customers that patronize McD's? They do not look like they burn ANY of it off 🫢. That was the point of the documentary -- show what happens when you act like the typical American consumer.

Quality of calories matters as well. McDonald’s reminds me of what my first computer science teacher wrote on the board the first day of class.
Garbage in garbage out

I was just pointing out the difference between a couch potato eating irresponsibly vs a person that workouts and knows the amount of energy he burns. As you can see it doesn’t bode well for couch potatoes, but it wouldn’t bode well for them if they overeat on any type of food. Now the dude that workouts and count calories prices that you can eat it fine as long as you equate it into your daily energy expenditure, that’s all. It’s all about responsible eating at the end of the day

There are so many options that are better than McDonalds. Sure you can get away with it. I did for years until I moved into management and a desk job. Funny thing is the food that is better for us actually tastes better.
The only thing fast food offers is convenience. I was a lazy eater. Just shovel it in regardless of what it is. I won’t ever be going back. Decided i want to be here when the last grandchild graduates high school.
We aren’t really arguing that fast food is good for us are we ?

@Super: Can you find that documentary about the guy who exercised? I googled but nothing came up. To disprove Supersize Me, you would have to do it apples-to-apples: start at a healthy weight & fat percentage with clean labs, consume the same meals/calories per day (approx. 5,000/day), and exercise. I found no comparable video or study online to debunk Supersize Me.

@Russell: FS has a wide variety of dieters. There will always be people defending foods that doctors do not recommend.

All this talk makes me think of Diablo and his donuts. I'd be curious to hear his opinion on this conversation.

Yes, I would like to see eating the same but continuing to exercise. So, CICO, he would have to burn 5k calories a day so he can maintain. I would like to 4.5k cal burn for a 500 cal surplus as well. Both would need to be monitored and before/after bloodwork to see how the body responds. Also, this would have to be natty and no AAS.
