Latest update, on the 28th I limited my self to only 26 carbs and my blood sugar went crazy. It was over two hundred when it was staying around 140 and this on the reduction of carbs. In light of this I feel the best coarse of action is to maintain my carbs near 50 to 60 per day, this is were I was seeing the best numbers on the meter.

High protein intake will also boost insulin. Was the protein fairly fatty to keep the insulin response down? I'm pretty sure the way it works is that carbs push up the insulin quickly and the insulin pushes down the sugar spike. Protein doesn't have an initial high rise but rather pushes up bs over time. Anyone with diabetes want to clarify that?

Honestly I'm not sure about the fatty protein not sure how to judge this but I do know that protein releases slow and wont spike bs. Carbs raise the bs levels and insulin lowers the bs, I think that is what you meant.

Try protein from lean fish (any white fish fillet, baked in parchment paper/or aluminum foil pack with lemon juice and some herbs and teaspoon of olive oil…accompanied by a sliced tomato, mixed greens with a olive oil / lemon juice dressing made at home…..takes very little time. In addition if you buy some chicken breasts, just salt and pepper, put a little tomato sauce on top, a couple of washed cut up potatoes and cover with aluminum foil and bake at 450-475 for 45 minutes….sooo good

Looks like you loosing ok...What I see is your diet contains a lot of protein. you need to balance your meals by eating a larger number of carbs instead of protein...especially since you are diabetic. You can eat better by balancing what you eat but the key is to eat less of many types of food...Bread is not your friend. If you must eat it eat whole wheat...but check out the package for numbers because all whole wheat bread is not friendly either...lots of sugar...which is not your friend either... Drink at least 10 8oz glasses of water every day as this will flush your system of all your meaness...just kidding...not about the water. Last eat celery, broccoli, fruits instead of packaged items...experiment by making your own foods...soups, grilled chicken, non fatty meats... Steaks...mmmm..cut it to a three oz portions instead of 16oz...then you can eat it on 5 occasions breakfast, snack, lunch, dinner snack.....on different days... I've said enough...what do I know anyway...Im just a fat body!

Certain fats (like those in avocados) can actually delay the absorption of carbs, effectively lowering their glycemic impact. Make sure you're eating some good fats at every meal. It will help even out the spikes, I think.
