On the 20th, I set off to do the 14.8 mile walk to visit my brah. I ate nothing until I got there, drinking only a bit of water. When I got there and for some of today (the day after - Saturday) I had two cups of a fruity tea (no teabags - a powder) called Whittards or something. On the Friday evening, I had a large portion of chips (thin chips, not a particularly big portion, to be honest) some hot sauce, and a few onion rings. It was lush. I couldn't count any of it because I didn't have access to this website and my account, so I'm noting what I ate here.

The walk was 14.8 miles, my average speed of around 2.9mph, took me a touch over 5 hours (30 minutes faster than last time) and consisted of over 30,000 steps. It was exhausting but awesome. I wore my heavier, steel-toe-capped boots, and had my rucksack with rather a lot of stuff crammed into it. Was a harder walk than the first time I did it.

I had 5 and a half hours sleep last night, so I'm utterly exhausted, especially as I doubt my body's recovered from yesterday. Got myself 200g of cold turkey slices and a tin of hot vegetable and lamb soup, which I seriously need.

Kinda messed up to weigh myself and end up right back where I started. (on this site, at least) But, I figure it's because I treated myself to Pringles (S&V) which were full of salt, and I had pasta, so... yeah, lots of water absorption, and the pasta itself is heavy and slow to process. I've also been drinking a lot of water as I still feel so thirsty. Hopefully I'll be a lot lighter tomorrow. I still look alright. I looked so much thinner when I looked at myself in the mirror after the treck... musta lost a lotta water weight from that.

Wonderful job. There's no way i could walk 1/8 of what you did. I commend your ability to do it and to add the weights to your walk also. I would give almost anything if i could walk like that again. I used to be very active and i walked a lot.

Thanks, guys. 8) There's a 50 and 100 mile treck in the distance, ... I say distance, because I know I'm not ready yet... wanna lose more weight and do the 15 mile walk a few more times. I do eventually need to do the 15 mile walk back the next day... so 30 miles in two days, and perhaps repeat that a few times as the "next" step. The problem is, it's dangerous enough going one way, let alone the other, and I don't really wanna do that already exhausted. It wouldn't matter much if I didn't have to dodge cars on dangerous roads. x_x

You will be able to do it. I took up walking, and so addicted to it, I can't get enough. I break mine down in 3 hour increments, and start real early. On my extreme power walk days, I have started as early as 1:00am, and clocked 37 miles in one day. It takes time to buildup to that, but I was determined to do more miles in a week than co-workers that spend in excess on $359 to enter 100 mile + races. Trust me, you are on the right path, and I do know about the dodging cars. When the bars let out at 2:00am, and I am walking in the wee hours, I can say I have seen some interesting things. This addiction does tend to take out of the social life.

Yeah, same, I took up walking, and I'm very addicted, too. xD 37 miles, very nice. I'd much prefer to do a walk in one session, partly because I find it easier to do it, commit, then quit and relax so I can do other shizz. I actually find this is HELPFUL for the social life. Like these 15 mile walks (give or take) are to visit my brah, and there's a possibility I'll be walking somewhere else that's probably around 7-10 miles away to visit another friend, then there's another that's over 15 miles away to visit another. There's the main city which is about 10 miles away, which is useful because there's some good shops like PC World. The 100 mile and 50 mile trecks I mentioned are a social thing, too; lots of people get together for it, 'though it doesn't HAVE to be a social thing, so I guess it's kinda up to the walker. Just wish I could find some local, like-minded people who'd join me on my walks.

I hear ya, I wish I could find a local group likewise. There is a marathon walking group, but they only meet on Saturday mornings, and it is 25 miles away.
