Well this morning was interesting. Another big quake! 5.5 magnitude - 6th largest shake since all this started. It went on for a LONG time too!

Thankfully it wasn't the Lyttleton Fault or we would have had heaps of damage, it was from the original September fault so by the time it reached us it was more wavy and rolling... a huge adrenaline rush though!

here is the quake drum of it ( unless you are really late reading this in which case it will have disappeared LOL) http://quake.crowe.co.nz/QuakeDrum/

Had a speed shower afterwards, was very glad I didn't have a nakey shakey LOL.

I will keep you up to date tomorrow with progress with the installers. Hubby started to put in a heat transfer system so we can warm the bedrooms up with the excess heat from the lounge, but decided after this morning's shake that he didn't really want to be up in the roof LOL.

No other news really, just ate eggs and veggies for lunch at 3.20pm LOL. Going out for dinner tonight with my parents and sister - to an Indian restaurant. That will be fun as I am gluten free, very low carb and neither of us can handle hot and spicy food.... and we have to hope that there is not another big shake and the building falls down on us or something... LOL

Oh my gosh, Squiggs - just neverending, eh? Sure do hope your night out w/ family is a good time! Don't know what to tell you regarding what to eat...perhaps eat something before you leave from home, that way you won't be terribly hungry, and if you can't find 'anything' than you can still enjoy everyone's company and eat again when you get back. Much Love - and keep hubby off the roof for now :)

This has not been a very good time for you. Hope all settles down for you again and life can resume some what normally for you. Take care.

Squiggs, so glad that the quake didn't do any further damage....I am still praying for you and for all those who are still struggling due to the effects from the earlier quakes. Hope you enjoyed your night out! Hugs and love, my sweet friend!

It was a crap night out, long story but ended up having a massive verbal fight with my sister - not sure our relationship will ever be the same again now. Not happy! The only "good?" part was that we got to watch a bunch of expensive shops being demolished. Stood around for so long my toenails went blue from the cold LOL

Squiggs, I'm so sorry about the fight w/ your sister. Is she too dealing with the stress of living w/ these quakes, etc. Perhaps a retreat to your own 'corners' for some private time before you see or speak again is a good thing! I know when I am upset w/ family, I need to be alone or w/ my hubby to get it all OUT of me... then I can re-group my thoughts, and the next time we talk or see each other, I can say clearly what upset me, or why it was offensive. But in the long run, I hope it isn't something that separates you in your sister relationship for too long! Much Love.

Oh Squiggs. I am so sorry about the fight you had with your sister. Hopefully things will work out in the end. But please take comfort in knowing that we are all here for you no matter what. Love.

If you had a good relationship with your sister before, I'm sure even a "massive" verbal fight won't permanently harm it - not that I'm saying it didn't hurt that relationship. But with all the stress everyone's been under, I think you can both find a way to mend the damage and go forward from there. Just be patient and keep your heart open.

Thanks Paula, no she lives in another city, but has pretty serious health issues. She only comes to visit every now and then so all good on that front LOL. Yeah hubby and I chatted a lot last night which helped.

Thanks Keli for your kind words, almost made me cry happy tears this morning when I read that....

Umm we never get on particularly well, I think she will always be "the older sister" - ya know? I am just going to put yesterday in the past, make notes NOT to do food things around her, and pray. These things happen, and with atkins most people just don't understand us and why we eat the way we do. Add to that gluten free and mostly low nickel and diabetic and it becomes very socially unacceptable LOL

Oh Squiggs, it was over your WOE??? That is too bad. Why do people think they have the right to tell us that what we eat or how we eat isn't right? I used to get that all the time, too. People just don't even want to make an effort to try to understand our food sensitivities. Sorry that happened, but as Keli said, we are here for you and always will be. I am so sorry that your night out was ruined by the disagreement with your sis! Someday she will come to realize that she doesn't know nearly as much as she thinks she does. Hugs and lot of love coming your way. <3<3

Stef what happened was that I worked out online exactly what I could eat, took ages doing it. When we got there we were told that we had to share! I was only going to have an entree and that wouldn't have been enough at all for both hubby and I, so we ordered what he could eat. Of course he could fill up on naan bread and rice too, what we shared wasn't enough chicken, but loads of sauce LOL. Everyone else also had dessert. I didn't eat much beforehand as I was confident with what I was originally going to order. Yes I was upset initially that all my plans had been mucked up, and when I am really really hungry I do get grumpy and then I go quiet LOL. I did still participate in the conversation every now and then, but my sister said I glared at her all night, which I definitely didn't do. *sigh* We left to watch a demolition of a building nearby and that is where the ummmmm "discussion" started. I ended up having to walk away to cool down at one stage. I ended up eating some eggs when we got home around 10.20pm..... I am not mentioning any of this on facebook as my sister is on it and does read what I write (and what others may write in response). I am just glad I get on well with my Mum and Dad...

I'm getting the shakes just reading about it. Wow you all have real grit to stay there. Home is home, but really dangerous too.

Thanks Windrider. We are used to the smaller ones now but the bigger quakes get a bit freaky as we always think they will turn into another huge killer one.....
