Sounds like a good start to the day anyway! I've never been fishing but I hear scalloping is very popular in these parts. Might be fun if I go with a friend who actually knows what they're doing 🤣 

when I fish I intend to eat in the lake behind my house mostly catfish and trout

My husband loves to fish! We do eat our catch unless of course if it's catch n release...going to Ely, Nv in a few weeks to Cave Lake so he can fish trout.. 

We used to put on a salt-water fishing rodeo every 4th of July weekend, great fun. A little different from a fresh-water tournament, a hugh variety of fish involved in the competition.

WTG! To your hubby in whichever position he got in the fishing tournament, it's not always about winning but enjoying what you do. I would love to learn to fish, don't know how that would work for me though, with me being afraid of boats, surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, but can't swim😆...Guess they'll have to create a pole long enough to be able to catch fish from wayyyy off from the water for me to try, wishful thinking, I know, lol😂😂, guess I'll stick to purchasing my fish from the local fishermen. Shrew, God woke you up a bit later than you would like, but thank God for life, he may be allowing your body to get that extra rest😴💤 that you may not have realized that it needs. 🙏🏽God bless you & your family.  

Petra, it was wasted a bit. I did achieve eating two big meals which I never do anymore.🥺 Monday is the day to crack down!🌺 

Yep Jimmie, I am surprised your keeping count. He made himself a counter outside that holds his barbecue stuff underneath in plastic bins, and a work station on top. Pretty cleaver.👍😊 

Taiwyn, I LOVE scallops!!! That may be worthwhile learning to do. Plus, going with a friend makes great memories.👍😊 

Mariel what a treasure to be able to just go fishing behind the house. My gosh, my hubby would do nothing else!🙃

my friend just caught another 55# bluefin. we will be grilling him next weekend. 

My hubby only competes in salt water, Shirfleur, but always one specie of fish. Sometimes large mouth bass, sometimes stripe bass, calico bass, etc. He gets so serious at times! That’s a lot of work to put on a tournament - WOW!👏👏👍🌸 

Ettenauj, I hated fishing till I started dating my hubby. Learned how to do it all and even release Sculpin without getting hurt. Love it, but got too busy as a mom. Didn’t stop him though as a dad!🙃😁🌸 

Donnie you hit the nail on the head!! This was a one time tournament just for fun! Even though my hubby has been checking for results a dozen times now.🙃 You should learn to at least tread water.
