Diario de Amelia Bedelia, 14 feb. 09

I love working out! I didn't used to, but now I definitely do! I thought going to the gym meant spending 20 minutes on a machine, lifting for a while, and heading back to another monotanous machine. Now that I've had zumba in my life for about six months, I see the reward of taking care of myself in a community, for having an opportunity to take care of myself physically and emotionally, and the change in my energy is tremendous. Today I went to Turbo Kick for the first time. My take on it is that it's Tae Bo with hip hop dance... it was fun, but I'm glad I don't mind what others think of me! Then I went on the elliptical for 15 minutes, took a break and had a snack, and then went immediately into 75 minutes of Zumba. WHAT AN AWESOME MORNING! I drank three bottles of water in that time, I had my LA Lite for my snack, and I came home to a really good whole grain english muffin, spray butter and reduced fat Skippy. I even rewarded myself with a heart-shaped sucker... If I burned 800 calories or so in 2 1/2 hour, I think I can have a sucker today!
