Morning FS friends. Thanks for your last notes of encouragement the other day. I just haven't been on to read journals, but I will today. Sorry I have been away some.

My heart is a little heavy this morning. One of our close friends from church passed away last night after a 2 1/2 year battle with brain cancer. He was only 38 and leaves behind a wife and 3 boys ages 7,6, and 5. He had done so well and totally functioning for most all of the time after brain surgeries but in Nov. he developed an inoperable tumor and he quickly declined the last two months. The good news is as Christians we believe in what the Bible says that we / he will go to heaven if we believe and have our faith in Jesus Christ. Their faith and perseverance in this trial was amazing and chronicled on their website. I've been thinking an awful lot lately about making sure you know where you are going when you die and why...

Well, as far as FS weight news goes- I am teetering just under 139 this morning. We made a Valentine's Dinner last night with our kids. Little steaks, roasted asparagus, red potatoes and onions, shrimp coctail, french bread, red wine (for us, not the kids!), candlelight and the London Symphony Orchestra CD playing! My girls kept saying how it was the best dinner ever and one kept speaking "fancy" the whole time. It was fun and special to do something different and a whole lot less expensive than going out! ($20 for the whole meal as I got a lot of it from Aldi.)

I have not been able to work out too much this week. I did 2 days so far, but am looking forward to a good workout today and on Monday again for sure.

I hope you all are doing well and I will check in on your journals this morning too. I am sending hugs and encouragement your way this morning!

So sorry to hear about your friend. Your Valentine's dinner sounds wonderful. The memories you created with your family are priceless - no restaurant can provide better than what you made yourself with love. Good luck with your training!

So sorry to hear of the loss of your dear friend :( Your faith and your strength will help his wife and children during this time. What a wonderful way to enjoy Valentine's Day by including your children as you did. Just imagining your evening put a smile on my face...family is certainly precious. Enjoy the remainder of your weekend, and continue to strive for your healthy comfortable weight...

I am so sorry for your loss. The poor little children. I work with a sweet lady whose husband died of brain cancer also. That was 12 years ago. She still wears her wedding rings, speaks of her beloved in present tense, and mentions talking with her husband after she prays. On a separate topic - your Valentines meal sounds lovely! Very sweet!

I'm sorry, too, for the loss of your friend, but I'm glad you all have your faith to comfort you. Your family Valentine dinner sounds like such fun, and a wonderful time for the kids! Too funny about the one talking 'fancy' during the whole thing.
