I have to stop watching tv at night. Last night it was the Sports Illustrated models making me feel inferior. Tonight it was the Biggest Loser. I have lost 17% of my previous body weight on my own (with the help of my FS buddies of course)...but without a trainer or nutritionist. Then you see the people that have lost more than 50% of their previous weight. Makes my accomplishment seem like a drop in the bucket. I have to turn this into a positive! It is my bucket and I am pretty proud that I have done this without a show staff assisting me...It may be taking me longer...but I think it will last longer because I have done this the hard way. That's my story and I am sticking to it!

Those who have lost 50% did not attain that overnight as well. It always takes positive motivation and hard work to accomplish our goals. And besides, the harder the journey, the sweeter the victory right? We will all eventually reach our goals as long as we keep going. We can do this! =)

I guess I was thinking about the "short" amount of time that the show airs with the amount of weight that these "contestants" lose. It seems like they lose a large amount of weight in a relatively limited time frame. Course if I were working out more than 8 hours a day you better be losing weight... I have to work my job to pay bills instead.

True! And that's reality. As much as we all want to focus and work on our bodies longer so we can attain our goals faster, we also have a lot of responsibilities to tend to. Being able to juggle all of that at once is an accomplishment already! And we should be happy and proud of that! =)

Agree with all above statements. The advantage we have over those biggest loser contestants is that this isn't a game for us, this is our real life. They will have to go home and learn how to workthose changes into their real lives, not surprisingly a lot of them gain without extra support. Also, the way that they've lost isn't sustainable. Stop comparing yourself to models and biggest losers, you are doing great all on your own. Seventeen percent is no small feat, own it and be proud. n

And we all wake up everyday and make the conscious decision to continue on this journey. Not just because we are in a contest or is under a contract. Be proud of all of that and keep pushing! =)
