I'm getting a lot of comments about my new size at work. Some of my favorite are; "You're withering away" and "it's the disappearing Jenn show". Most of my tactful co-workers say something sweet like, "This change you're going through, it's good" or "I can tell you're losing weight, you look great". I think that most people comment because they are trying to say that they've noticed the change, and most are very positive.

Although, it's so personal. I wish people didn't ask, "How much have you lost?" and "What are you doing to take the weight off?". I know that there are so many fad diets, so many gimmicks that when people lose a lot of weight, they think you're starving yourself, or working out everyday. I try to really downplay everything and say, "I'm just watching what I eat." or "I stopped eating out so much & cut down some of the crap I was eating." The truth is, I'm making better CHOICES. It's really that simple. How do you quit smoking - you make the CHOICE to quit, then support that with more choices on where you go, who you go with, and how you do things. Quiting drinking was the same thing... so now I'm quitting being fat.

The New Year has brought so many new dieters & excersizers to the playing field. I'm not complaining - but I don't have any desire to sit in the break room and discuss what you're workout routine has been for the last week. My boss decided to recount all of his workouts, including the different times he did cardio vs weight lifting. Why me? Why do I have to be the counsel for those who just jumped on the band wagon last week? I should have a better attitude about it, I guess. For me, when I decided it was time to make better choices - I didn't tell everyone that I was on a diet, or that I'm going to work out, or that I'm going to be more healthy. I just did it.
