Diario de Kingstephen, 16 dic. 13

Day 16: Some good news some bad news.......Bad news weight up a little this morning, which I expected with two work Christmas functions on Saturday and Sunday where altogether too much eaten and drunk. Knowing today was a fast day I figure I can make up my lost ground today so even though its my daughters birthday and we are out to dinner tonight I wont drink alcohol and it will be sensible choices from the menu. The good news is that my 8 week period finished with my PT at the gym, so it was time for measurements and some great numbers.........Skin folds showed I have reduced body fat by 28%, 4 cm's from waist hips and chest, so while the weight drop on the scales wasn't as much as I had hoped, I have increased muscle and decreased fat by a significant amount. Im happy :)

Just finished filling in all the food and drink over what was a very festive weekend.......ouch. It dawned on me it would have been easier and less embarrassing to have not filled it in, or 'fudged' some of the detail and made myself look better, but Im determined honesty is the way forward, and if you do the crime, gotta do the time. So my appalling food and drink 'choices' (though the choices available were very limited) are there for all (and myself to see) and what will be interesting is the daily weigh ins this week to see what effect that weekend was on the overall journey. To me its just a speed hump on the highway to a new me, nothing more nothing less, and I will succeed, and still be able to enjoy the occasional 'splurge'. So if anyone is reading my stupid thoughts and raves, watch this space for updates, and I hope someone else going through the same things Im going through will find it helpful.

I look at your weight history and the scale overall is heading in the right direction. I say KUDOS to you - keep it up and don't worry about the missteps every once in a while. Funny thing - if I over indulge I don't even keep track on FS. Just wake up the next day and start over. So far I've had many start overs, the point is never to quit. Cheers, Lynn

Lynn I found it quite cathartic in owning up here to my misdemeanours, yes it would have been easy to just start over, less embarrassing but.......I really love the line in the (somewhat awful) movie Rocky Balboa, where he says life is tough, and its not about how hard you can hit, its about how hard you get hit, and keep getting up. I like that. thanks for commenting, yes overall since I joined here 17 days ago and decided to change my life I had one big weekend, but.....its just that, ONE weekend (and it is Christmas), so I got back on the horse had a great fasting day yesterday, went out for dinner, drank diet coke and ate really sensibly. Tomorrow will be another fast day..... Im back.
