The Motivation Express has derailed. New track under construction.

I have been slacking for probably more than a week. On a scale of 1 to healthy my food intake was... cake. Ugh... I need to get back on track.

My normal weigh in day is tomorrow. So far I'm expecting a five pound jump from eating too much crappy food and not exercising. I'm hoping to minimize that number with the healthy eating, increased water, and run I do today. I have a feeling December is going to be a struggle for me. I've already gone through Thanksgiving, the office Christmas party, and my mom's birthday. The rest of December still has plenty of chances for gains with my brother's birthday, my birthday, Christmas dinner, and my annual charity thingamajig (I go to a restaurant and leave a $100 tip in a Christmas card about a week before Christmas). I'll be honest. I don't plan on dieting on any of those days. So I'm going to have to work my a** off the rest of the time to make up for it. If I could just manage not to gain during December I would be happy. If I have a net loss at the end of the month I will be ecstatic.

Yeah... December is when I'm at my weakest (diet wise). I have a serious sugar addiction. It doesn't help that I'm the designated dessert maker for my family. Oh well, time to start running like a maniac again.

That is an interesting yearly charity contribution. I just try to always tip well and tip with cash so they don't have to pay taxes on it. Hopefully you can keep exercising enough to keep the damage to a minimum this season. Just make a decision that you will get right back on track after the holidays.

Yeah, I give to other charities during the year, but I started leaving the $100 bill tip at a time when I was mad at a charity for misusing funds. I figured that just giving money directly was a way to guarantee what my money was going to... just not if the person deserves it. It's kind of like the lottery. It's random and you don't really know if the person really needs it or not, but I'm sure they're very appreciative all the same. Last year I left the tip for a Chili's waitress when I went to eat with my brother and cousin. Apparently she knew my brother from waaaay back but didn't say anything during the meal because she didn't think he would remember (he didn't). Anyway, she met him randomly as a gas station a week later and was thanking him and crying and he had no idea why. LOL She explained about the tip I left and that it made her Christmas because after bills she didn't have anything left to buy gifts for her little girl and now she did. So that's pretty much the best possible outcome with my random Christmas tipping.
