Yes! I have a ton of hibiscus! I should try that. 

Textmaven— I drink hibiscus all the time, but I mail order the flowers dried. The flower that is used for the tea is hibiscus sarafina. Although all parts of the plant are supposedly edible it is this particular one -sarafina, that is used for the teas. Anyone here ever tried making tea from the one in your yard? I have also used the sarafina leaves post steeping, to make the most incredible chocolate cookies. It’s a Hispanic thing. They are so good that I seldom make them. Plus they are labor intensive. 

I has it as "Sorrel" made with Ginger and a little sweetener and served at Christmas 

Drank hibiscus tea before, bought tea bags at Wal-Mart. 

I make a liquid sweetener out of granulated SWERVE and keep it in the refrigerator. I add about a teaspoon to my glass when I go to drink it. It is a little too tart unsweetened. I drink it for breakfast and dinner. 

Hibiscus chocolate! Swoon!

This looks like sorrel. Very refreshing when served cold in the summer.
