Increased intensity level on treadmill to Level 4, meaning 3.6 speed, 7.0 grade for 45 minutes, burning 312 calories. Exercised every day this week so far.

Wow! That's fantastic! Sometimes I alternate...start at 3.6/I-2.5 then after 5 min's bump it up to 3.8/I-5.0, then after another 5 min's...bump it up to 4.0/I-7.5 then to 4.2/I-10.0, then back down in 5 min increments...for a total of 40 min's (plus my 2 1/2 min warm up / cool down on either end) for 45 min's. I am pooped when I am done! But in a good way! Lately...since going on the hike up the mountain...I have up'd the incline and decreased the speed so that I can pump my arms and not hold on...that is much harder...and much better for you. I was getting too lazy w/ the holding onto the front of the treadmill at the higher inclines...so I thought I would mix it up! Keep going...you're doing it!!! Good Job!!

I agree that not holding on makes it much harder and I try to do that as much as possible. After this workout, I'm drenched. My next step is to add in some strength training, since I'm not doing much in that area. For now, I'm working out at home. But I do have a Wii and am thinking about setting that up in the same room that I exercise so I can incorporate exercises on the Wii.
