Well I´ve not lost a thing all week. I can understand it if I had been on Atkins for a while but 23 days is a bit soon to freeze.

I had to give myself a good talk, and have taken Paula's advice and stated to follow Induction cleanly. Carrots, coconut milk, fresh coconut and strawberries had creapt in. But I've now got to grips again. I don't think I have been too bad, but I've been experimenting, which is typical of me, I always have to try to find the short route.

I craved the the taste of coconut and I thought I could get away with it (I've thrown the remainder away). The thing with the carrots was that I genuinely thought carrots was acceptable on Phase 1, but when I learnt it wasn't I thought it didn't matter as I was then losing pounds. Carrots are one of my favourite veg, next to peas ( :)not a pea has passed my lips I´m pleased to say). I have to force brocolli and cabbage down. It is the same with lettuce, but a good shake of the balsamic vinegar bottle makes that yummy.

I do find my digestive tract rather slow, so when I had success yesterday in that department, I thought I must have lost this morning. I woke up about 5 a.m. for the bathroom and I thought I'd just check on the scales, I was horrified to find that I was 2 pounds heavier! In the old days that would have sent me in a spin and the diet out of the window. I went back to bed lecturing myself. After visiting the bathroom 2 more times, I climbed on the scales again at my normal time of about 8.30 and guess what, that 2 pounds had gone.

I'm desperately trying to get an angle on my new way of eating - to find the best routine for me.

Another good thing I've noticed, I have a 12 inch scar from my wrist to the inside of my elbow (surgeons removed a vein to patch me up elsewhere). The scar has been looking very ugly and noticeable with lots of pulls and bumps in it. I noticed the scar today, and found that it is now smooth and flat. It is hardly noticeable now. Got to remain positive!

Jen - it does sound like you made quite a few changes to the Atkins plan to better suit your 'tastes'. However, it doesn't always work well that way. This is where the 'time to focus' comes into play. In the very beginning what did you use to set yourself up on this program? One of the books? The online Atkins site? You need to go back and review the basics. Re-evaluate the list of acceptable foods on Induction. There's no need to go backwards. But going forward, you need to be accountable to making this lifestyle change work for you. And that means WORKING the plan! Not working YOUR plan...but the one that YOU chose in the beginning. In the last week's food journals you have had, nuts, fruit, coconut, diet sodas, and so on... I am not a bit surprised things have slowed to a halt. Squeeky clean induction...and let this way of eating work for you...go with it, don't fight it...eat what it allows, and forego the rest until your weight is coming off and you're ready to move to OWL. And you are not ready yet. Let this be a lessoned learned - Note to self: Clean Induction Eating Only! and don't forget your water :)))

This is my second day (13th Oct)of a very clean induction menu. My thoughts were that I tried to make the menus acceptable to me so I would stick to it.... WRONG! I am learning my lesson, and will reread the new Atkins book. I did lose very quickly 10 lbs with Atkins over 5ish years ago, but I didn't follow it through. I am so glad that you and other Atkineers on this forum are here to help. I really appreciate your kind help.

Jen, just focus on your future and nothing in the past. You can do it, just stick to your WOE/WOL.:) Remember, slow and easy won the race.
