I have become obsessed with my scale lately...

And, not in a Damien v. Harold kind of way either, (see: "As The Calorie Burns") it is more of a "YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME" feeling that has taken over every time I even look at the scale much less get on.

Since, going off South Beach, starting, and then stopping Weight Watchers a few months ago I have stayed at what I am now (by now I mean today, at this moment). It has been two weeks now since I started counting points again and I have gone up five pounds then down, then up, then down... I am back to where I should be but my goodness!

I want all the bad foods I was eating because it was not as if I gained weight and I am not losing now. I feel like I am hanging on by a thread!

I know, I know... It will take time... keep up the work... it will pay off... yada yada yada

I think my problem is not the diet or dieting or even eating healthy... it is the scale that makes me "feel" like an elephant and makes me "feel" like I am failing.


So... screw the scale!


Who am I kidding? I need to know. I WANT to know. There is no way around it.
I will have to grin and weigh it ;)


And for thankful Thursday...

I am thankful that I have a loving and supportive husband who's only request is that I don't lose my fat ass ;)

Thanks for the "credits"! It's odd being referenced! I know how you feel about the scale, the numbers, and lack of reinforcement it gives you. Maybe now is a good time to shove the scale in the corner of a dark closet or out in the garage - somewhere where it is too inconvenient to go have a sneak-peek at your weight. And break out the measuring tape! The tape is so much more reliable and less tempermental than the scale. The little things that set the scale off on a tangent don't even concern the tape. So, maybe that's the way to go. For a while at least. Until you get over this obsession thing : )

I know that when I was trying to make it to One-derland I became possessed. Then my husband got sick & I forgot about the scale & some time later when I finally got on the scale... VOILA!!! One-derland! So find something that can take your mind off of the scale (work, kids, a project, etc.) & let your body just DO IT!!!

ok, it's official---you ARE BEING CUT OFF THE SCALE-WATCHING!!! Don't make me come there and lock it up!!!!!! Coz I WILL DO IT!! You're OBSESSING, girl! Don't let that little devil mess with your head, your normally ebullient self, and that can-do spirit!!! Seriously, STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALE!!!!! You can do it! And also, try something different---pick up a new exercise! Come join us on the running or the dvd dance party challenge!! I need some good ass-whooping too! So, come kick our butts--and Shake that bootay!!!

God .... I hear yah, but I will give you the same advice you gave me...there is more to it than that number. I can tell by just your writing that you are amazing. If you want this you can have it...and we are all cheering you on. Oh and Thanks for making me feel welcome here...

You crazy, wonderful woman are right! Screw the scale, lol! I will wait and see what jean size I will fit into next ;) (or until FS says Weigh in Now!) Thanks guys! You are all truly wonderful!
