I wanted to do an update on some of the meals I actually eat now. I've learned so much info on fatsecret that many foods I used to consume I dont consume anymore. I have also had to streamline my diet here and there to get the best results that my body could handle without wanting to eat a horse. :)

I still eat red beans (I love red beans!), but I dont eat canned beans at all anymore. I switched to Camelia red beans in the pack to make mine from scratch every time. I use fresh cut seasonings of celery, bell pepper, green onion, and yellow onion. I buy my fresh seasonings in bulk and cut them up with a chopper and then freeze it. It's cheaper that way for me. I don't use dried seasonings anymore. I put a cap full of extra virgin olive oil in the beans to cook with the fresh cut seasonings as well. I do not eat andouille sausage in it. I do not eat cornbread with it. I cook either brown basmati rice or regular brown rice to eat with the red beans. I do a small serving of rice and a serving of the red beans with a serving or two of some sort of vegetable. I love vegetables so it realy doesnt matter which ones. I've cut my serving sizes in the last couple months bc I realized that I was serving myself improper servings at times.

Still eat tuna but I eat boneless skinless chicken breasts a whole lot more now. I eat the tuna by itself or I eat it in a pasta salad with veggies. I do not eat tuna helper anymore at all. I also eat chicken and pasta. The pasta I use is always 100% whole wheat but I've cut back on the amount or serving drastically. I always bake my boneless skinless chicken breast and if I have another kind of fish it is always baked and usually tilapia. However, I eat chicken about 95% of the time if I choose a meat to eat with my meal now though. It keeps it simple until I lose the rest of the weight.

I dont do desserts at all really. I sort of use eating plain greek yogurt with fresh blueberries mixed in as a "dessert". I still don't use any sugar in any food I prepare. I cook all my own food about 98% of the time now. I tend to lean towards cooking recipes that include chicken and vegetables. It keeps it simple for right now. Ive been eating a few veggies raw during the week too now like brocollli. I eat LOTS of vegetables in general through the week bc I've always just liked them in general and the only beverage I drink is water. Some mornings i remember to drink a cup of green tea too. Oh and I consume all my calories before 5pm everyday too.

I still eat large salads except I eat it without newmans own dressing. I sometimes eat it with or without cutup chicken breast. Just raw salad/romaine lettuce, other raw salad fixings, etc with a little lemon juice. Im sure im missing some foods from this journal but everything is eaten in moderation and if I use an oil I use EVOO. I count calories. Now im trying to consume only 1000-1200 calories per day for 3 months. Also im a semi vegetarian now. Although I will not consume eggs or milk for the next 3 months either. Really trying to push losing these last 45 pounds before October. After 3 months I will change things up again to get to the finish line.

I still dont consume any bread. Thats the one thing I cant wait to start eating again once I get my weight under control. When I do get to that point I will only consume the darker, grainier breads bc those are said to be healthier. I used to consume a tsp of peanut butter for appetite suppressant but I havent needed to do that in a long while.

Just started taking in an ISO-100 protein powder mixed with water at 106 calories for an additional 25 grams of protein each day. I was having issues with fatigue in the past but no longer have that problem. I take vitamins and supplements: C, D3/D, E, B12, B7/Biotin, Iron, Gingko Biloba, Omega 3-6-9 Complex, and Acacia Fiber. I feel good everyday and im making a lot of progress due to my workouts as well. I workout early in the morning bc if I dont do it then, it tends to never happen at any other point of my day. I also meditate for about 10 minutes a day too.

I started my journey at 263 pounds in Oct 2012. Ive lost 63 pounds so far and my goal is to get to 155 pounds. I weigh myself each morning. I measure my entire body once every month and record in a notebook where I journal as well. When I look back at my early measurements im literally so embarrassed that I had allowed myself to get so gigantic. I honestly let myself go and led an unhealthy, unchecked lifestyle. I am so proud of myself for taking my life back. I've learned so much about food that I had no idea was even important. I learned so much about myself that was really important and helpful to not just my physical but my mental and spiritual journey as well. Im still learning. Happy to learn and eager to learn more about my body on this journey. Im so grateful for a place like fatsecret where buddies, challenges, forums, and groups have increased my knowledge much quicker and greater than had I not been on this site.

I know that losing my last 45 pounds of weight is going to be really hard but the thought of being able to fit back into my smaller clothing seriously motivates me lol. A majority of my clothing (like 70%) is in my smaller size. Im too frugal to buy a whole lot of larger sized clothing. It's less expensive to just lose weight. I promised myself (actually wrote a contract that I signed) that I will never do this to myself again. I value my health much more today and I know better to do better.

Nice work!!!!! You have lost so much in a short period of time really. I have learned some things reading this for myself even. I am getting more and more vegetarian, might cut all the wheat bread type products for a good length of time. I keep cutting down more and more. Greek yogurt is a treat. It is great with old fashioned oatmeal, not cooked, and some flax seed oil. Does not sound great, but it really is. I also do the oatmeal, again uncooked, with cinnamon and unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I am trying to go back to my habits before i had a weight problem. Some things have to change, though. Definitely can't eat mounded plates and pasta serving size is what a serving should be, now. I love that Newman's Own olive oil and vinegar, but I have been cutting down. I may try that protein powder that you do. I am awfully tired and I don't want to keep running to sips of coffee. i love the beans and rice. I would like to do them with the seasonings that you do. It may cut the need for that dressing. I have lemons and could do less dressing and do without the sodium. Your diet looks very low sodium, which does help to cut the weight. Very impressive all the way around. Thank you for sharing. You will finish this up. Can't wait to hear about your success. I would be interested in hearing more details on your workouts, too sometime (how they have progressed etc.)??

That oatmeal sounds SOOO good! Thank you for sharing your recipe! I have been doing Leslie Sansone 3 mile walk video and Jillian Micheals Banish Fat Boost Metabolism (both available for free on youtube.com). The Leslie Sansone vid I get through very easily now even when I wear wrist and ankle weights. The Jillian Micheals BFBM vid is still challenging to my body so I think I will keep doing that vid. I also do crunches, squats, and arm exercises with and without resistance when I can. Im about to try out Jillian Micheals 30 Day Shred. I will sort of see where I am and make adjustments over time when I feel I need to. I listen a whole lot more to my body now but im still learning a lot of new things too. It takes a bit of time but the increase in knowledge is well worth the time invested for my body. :D
