Diario de BadAndee, 17 oct. 07

It's probably a little late in the day to actually begin the diet today. Anyway, I pretty much blew it already by having a grilled cheese for breakfast and a grilled cheese for lunch! At least I'm consistent!! I first joined Weight Watchers on-line and things went fine while I learned the basics of the program. Then I joined the meetings when I felt i needed more support. At the meetings, I started out with alot of ambition and did great for the first few weeks. Each weigh-in, I lost weight, but i noticed it varied depending on which scale they weighed me on! (when every ounce counts, that can be very frustrating!) Also, the support system still wasn't there. The meetings were always too broad and general. I guess I made the mistake of expecting them to be a little more tailored. I went to 3 different meetings to experience different instructors, but they were all the same. After one very disheartening week where I practically starved myself, I went to weigh-in and was told that I actually gained a pound! I didn't even stay for the meeting. I cried on the way home, and haven't been back since. that was a month ago. I'm happy to say that I still haven't gained back the weight, but I haven't lost any more either. Maybe i just need a friend/support team, to make a difference. I like challenges and friendly competition!! bring it on!! anyway, I SUPPOSE I'll come back to Weight Watchers...as long as it's done MY WAY this time (weigh-in to be from my one-and-only scale!) . Is there anybody out there who can relate to me??

Best of luck to you...this is a great place as I am also new to this site but am finding out quickly! Today was my first day on South Beach diet and I am very excited to see how it goes. Talk to you soon....

Hi BadAndee! The last of the weight is the hardest to lose, isn't it? Weight Watchers works, but the closer you are to goal, the more you have to stick to it. If you hadn't eaten much that week, your body (metabolism) could have gone into "starvation mode". It's important to eat all your points or it will think you are starving it and SLOW your metabolism down. I had that happen. The meeting is only as good as the leader, so if you didn't like that one, try another. I finally found a GREAT leader that does tailor the meetings more towards us. But if you've tried different leaders, maybe this buddy system will be the key you need! I get really frustrated at the scale too. Especially since I lift weights and run...but I know that I'm doing the right thing and so are you. Good luck today! It's a day to day mentality....
