on AS THE VEGGIES ATTACK...lol

i disappointed my team...this weekend we were canning tomatoe sauses...so the only veggies i had were what we put in the sauses...so i blew it...big time...

my tally for monday august 3rd was a 3.75...i had peas and carrots (they are so mushy) hear me groan...sorry cooked peas are royaly nasty...i was told to try the sweet pea's in the pods that are fresh right now...will do this as soon as i get to the farmers market...the only reason it is not higher is that i did not finish a full portion of them...

i really am going to have to practice cooking veggies...lol...i will learn...I WILL NOT LET THE VEGGIES WIN...lol...

You are so cute! I am sure you are not alone in your hatred of veggies. You are doing the right thing though by trying different ones and seeing which agree with you and which don't. I would also agree that fresh veggie taste better than canned or frozen... and frozen taste better than canned. Also how you cook them makes a HUGE difference. Give yourself a lot of kudo's for giving yourself this challenge and working so deligently on it

lol First off.... I recommend the frozen, not canned version of the peas and carrots... not as mushy, in my opinion. ;) lol And yes, it takes some getting used to what to cook and how to have it cooked/prepared or I have had some nasty veggies, too... not fun. You're a trooper and I am confident you will end up finding some that you really enjoy. Have you tried the butternut squash w/rosemary.... it's in the "kitchen", I believe ImLuuvd posted it. ;) I LOVE it! Keep on truckin' you're doing great!

You could try adding season salt to them, may help if sometimes is a flavor, not texture problem!

Wow...you really DO hate veggies!! Good luck on finding some that you like. There's GOT to be something out there in veggie world that agrees with you! :D

Fair play to you for persevering with something that you find so so hard to do... what strength of character you are showing.. keep it up... (have you tried marinading your veggies in Baileys????)

Once you get to the farmer's market you'll definitely have a big turnaround on the peas situation! That I am sure of!

I agree with the idea of fresh or frozen over canned. I have used a lot more fresh veggies in the last 8 months and have really found that I like them much better, including spinach, which, when fresh, really justs tastes like lettuce. Keep experimenting and I'm sure you will find at least a few things you can take. Look for recipes. Good luck!!

oh, so true, so true! How you cook veggies, is sooo important! My mom use to cook veggies until they were completely mush...YUCK! How about listing all of the veggies you have eaten so far...and let us give you some suggestions on some new ones to try...and give you tips on how to prepare them =) You aren't letting your teammates down! We are soooo proud of you, and your even trying all these veggies that you do...especially when most would just push them aside! Yaaaay to you for eating them! =)
