Diario de veggies yuk, 31 jul. 08

well...finally good news on the weight standstill front...i am going to have to accept that the 3 week standstills are good for me...

i joined our local ymca tonight...the doc cleared me for walking/lite exercise in the water and they have an h2o program...

i tried on the swim suit i wore in jamaica last year...way too much boobage going on and the bottom's were droopy...so i tried on the suit i wore the year before...not as much boobage but enough...soooo i go to dicks tonight and just for giggles try on a size 10 top and it will be too big if the boobs go away anymore...how cool...and the bottoms are a comfortable 12...i usually buy my suits a size or two bigger than i am...this time everything matches...i was so happy...lol (i am easily amused)

Not too many people are happy after trying on swimsuits. Good for you!! That is always encouraging.

WOO WHOOO!!! You go girl! I haven't gotten to buy smaller clothes in a long while but when I did, it was exilerating!!! (sp?)

that's great news! you've been so focused on eating all your veggies you haven't been obsessing about what fits, what size you are which resulted in a nice surprise in the dressing room! i love reading about the veggies you are incorporating into your diet :) keep up the good work! i ate parsnips and they are delicious!!

Veggies I wanted to tell you about another idea for getting your "veggies" in... pumpkin IS a veggie!!! is you like pumpkin pie then try the pumpkin custard recipe on this site... its really good. I substitued pumpkin pie spice for all the spices.. I used 1 tsp. and I substituted splenda for baking mixture for the sugar (not splenda sugar substitute ..there is a difference) try it and you can have a veggie for DESSERT! Don't get discouraged, these weight fluctuations drive me crazy, but just stick to your program and you will see it come down. It has to give in eventually!

how cool...i love pumpkin...did not know it was a dessert...i will try that over the weekend...i have frozen pumpkin in the freezer from last years pumpkins...lol...halllejjjjuuuuuuuahhhh...(sp?)...you just made my day...

pumpkins are like tomatoes and squash varieties of vegetables.. we know that tomatoes are actually "botanically" a frut but for "culinary" purposes they are a vegetables.. same thing applies to pumpkin, squash, zucchini, bell peppers and green beans. botanically they are all frut.. but we consider them veggies. More than you needed to know huh!!!

Those water aerobic exercises are low impact and really great (though I don't know if that is what you are talking about). I like the mitts one can use to increase resistance on the arms. This post of yours reminds me that I could do something like that, and that it makes me feel great after I do it. :-)

janelleas can you come live with me and teach me this stuff...lol...it makes sense though...i love tomatoes and pumpkin...the squash was not bad...the yellow that i had the other night was mushie...bell peppers except the green are good..i can even eat them raw if i have a dip...and green beans are still nasty...lol...thank you... info...i saw those mits on a web page...they really do work???...it is low impact as my ankle is not healing properly and the doc is hoping that that will help stimulate the bone growth...imluuvd told me the other day that building muscle mass helps increase bone strength...i think this will work...do you do h20 aerobics

I love pumpkin but my SBD Good Fats Good Carbs Guide says to avoid it. I was eating it until then. Does anyone know why it should be avoided? I am hoping it is an error as everything I read says it is good for you, low in fat and calories.

Pumpkin has a high glycemic index of 75 so I guess that is why it the book says to avoid it. Darn!

veggies, those mitts are very effective, especially the Tyr brand (try the black ones if they are not too big). If you decide to get them, buy ones that cover the tips of your fingers (or close). That is what you want for water aerobics. The ones that fit just right are for a *little* more resistance and are used for swimming. They really give your upper body a workout.

Oh wow friend....you are SO going to love doing that! My gym offers those water aerobic classes also, I would have LOVED that when I was healing off those torn leg muscles! You go get 'em and congrats on the swim suit situation! It isn't JUST being easily amused, it's called being a happy person! YEAH for you!
